I've never used one but seems to Me,You drop a book and You just pick it up and read on.Drop one of those and Well You're f*cked.In any case,Call Me old fashioned but I'm a fan of real books,You can't put a kindle on the shelf.The only advantage to them that I can see is reading something embarrasing in public,The 120 Days of Sodom perhaps or Katie Price's latest...

i've been thinking of getting an e-reader for some time, but was a little put off by some of the specs on a recent kindle model. totally proprietary as far as media distribution, and didn't have a USB slot to upload to, from a flash drive. no way, jose. *bzzzt*

at this point, main advantage i'm seeing over a tablet is the e-ink (the more light you shine on it, the better the display). what would be fantastic would be a tablet with color e-ink.

Definitely not. I have read about 40 books so far on mine. I have the wifi + 3G version, it has a rudimentary web browser and plays mp3s.
I was given a Nook last Christmas, now that was complete shit. I returned it, bought a Kindle and a nice pair of Oakley Jury polarized glasses.
