I watched a great Tour de France stage this afternoon and so chasing info stumbled on this post https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cycling/66203709

the bit that atrached my attenion was
"World cycling's governing body has ruled transgender women will be prevented from competing in female events... ...The UCI has renamed the male category 'men/open' "

Does that mean a person born as a female and remaining as one could enter the open catagory of the Tour de France in the future.

It particually struck me that in my sport (skiing). Lindsey Vonn often complained she wanted to compete on level terms with the men she trained with, but was always declined.

I know Lindsey Vonn can be scary, but that scary?
