is it complete coincidence that alan pardew has managed so many sides currently in the bottom half of the table?

How good are Swansea? They scored a goal against an Allardyce Everton. That's no mean feat nowadays. Seriously, Liverpool should be leading the league since they were good enough to do so.

One of my closest work friends is a born and bred Evertonian; having spent nearly all season bemoaning the rubbish he was watching while they were plummeting under Koeman, he's now moaning how awful they're playing whilst steadily climbing the table under BFS.

Scousers? Odd bunch.

Lanzini gets a 2 match ban for diving. I thought de Bruyne's penalty was as much of a dive.

Is he aware it's not the mid80s anymore?

He suffers with the delusion which is also self-imposed by supporters of a few other notables (West Ham spring to mind), to whit: they aspire that, as a default, they will play attractive football - and hope that this becomes a self-fulfilling prophesy. See also in particular, Spurs and MUFC. On their day Everton are no more or less attractive or entertaining than anyone else - so much depends on who is in their squad and if the Manager has been threatened with the push. I saw West Ham under Lou Macari; the truth is out there...

Our first interloper and doomed before he even walked through the door as many, including myself, were miffed at the sacking of Lyall, were a loyal bunch to our own.

LM tried and failed to change attitudes at the club, lost the players, lost the fans and money at the bookies then his job.

When he left we were a nothing outfit in division 2 (Championship), but to be fair he did sign Ludo along with Allen and the love boys Bishop & Morley.

BFS will keep Everton up, but it will not be pretty and year in year out you cannot help but think could you please try something different, he even gave youth its chance, playing two full backs from the development squad in a back three at Forest, it failed spectacularly and I am sure he did it just to shut us up about giving youth its chance. When we signed Andy Carroll it was hoof ball into the box from anywhere, dire. The worst was the 4-6-0 at home, worryingly something Moyes has done as well.

Ludo was brilliant! There were some decent players aroung that time - young slater who never really trained on (Ipswich then Celtic?) and I used to enjoy watching Kevin Keen who always seemed, unfortunately for him, able to see passes that his teammates didn't appreciate. That was around the time I went down to the Boleyn quite a lot as my then partner was a season ticket holder it was easy to pay on the gate and it was one of the cheapest nights out in London.

Incidentally, it was her funeral I went to recently (bone cancer took her early) with a solid group of ex WHU season ticket holders in attendance. The BFS regime was the final straw for some, the move away did it for the rest. Yet such is the appetite for modern football, the stadium will be full if Moyes turns it around despite WH shedding the most traditional supporters since that stupid bond scheme.

Meanwhile Swansea are now looking for a new Pulis sorry, manager to turn them into a team that can do pretty much the impossible and keep them up. Any other candidates? I think he'll be there for Boxing Day.
