Les used to play the piano in brothels in Paris apparently and Dudley was a concert pianist but also loved jazz. Les was brilliant in playing the piano badly which is no easy feat. I have heard that there are a series of notes that if you play them to women it can turn them on-I am not sure how accurate this is.

Here are a few facts about Hull, named and beginning it's year as City of Culture.
Hull is credited for the invention of:
Lemsip(cough & cold remedy), LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) screens and the boiled sweet

Actors Maureen Lipman, Sir Tom Courtnay & Reece Shearsmith were born in Hull as well as record-breaking solo female pilot Amy Johnson, William Wilberforce(slavery abolitionist) and Roy North-who spent a stint as Basil Brush's sidekick 'Mr Roy' but was originally a radio DJ

The one thing I know about (Kingston upon) Hull is that it is the only UK city with its own, independent telephone system - KCOM. It has come up in many a quiz evening over the years.

Oh! One more - Mick Ronson, Bowie's magnificent collaborator, came from Hull.

What they don't tell you is that their service is mind-bogglingly appalling and they charge twice as much as everybody else, just because they can. AND they still have monthly download limits, in 2017.

Poet Philip Larkin also spent many years as rector (I think is what you call it) of Hull library and is buried down the road in Cottingham.

Did you know that a lot of so called honey for sale in the supermarkets isn't real honey at all but honey flavoured sugary water? This might not matter to some people but real honey has nutritional benefits that, obviously, aren't found in the fake honey. Price is the givaway as a jar of real honey is likely to cost upwards of three, or even four quid (and I'm not talking about Manuka honey which is something like twenty quid a jar) .
Jars and squeezy bottles of 'honey' that cost little over a quid probably aren't the real thing. Runny honey will solidify if placed in the fridge for a day or so but the fake stuff won't solidify.
The price of honey has gone up over the past year or so because a lot of bees are dying off.
