Yeah it's a pity... Talking about Magnussen, I'm impressed by his performance thus far this year. Maybe he's an okay driver or it's Grosjean who is exposed as not being that good.

Ferrari will need some luck not to be eaten alive by Mercedes in the upcoming fast tracks (excepted Singapore), won't they. Vettel will have to be very consistent and always be on the podium, counting on the Mercedes drivers taking points from each other and having trouble, to arrive at Abu Dhabi in the position to win the title. Also, when we look at Lewis in the last few years, he usually picks up momentum in the second half of the season. Well, Vettel too in his Red Bull years, but he will need Ferrari to deliver serious performance in order to do that.

Best two circuits of the year coming up . I'm wondering if the teams will try lower downforce at Spa this year for higher speeds on Kemmel and Blanchiment given the greater mechanical grip they have available for the twisty middle section of the lap. I'm expecting Radillon to be flat for everyone, even on full tanks.

I was watching this race recently and it brought back to me that the sport of motor racing was very dangerous, and still can be. There is a lot of energy involved, forces are large and things happen quickly because of it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gvr1ROghXRA More on this accident. http://blog.parathyroid.com/race-car...racing-deaths/ And saw this one again recently too...awful. Don't watch if you're squeamish. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gMkNJEIrkvA&t=1234s That said, it is a great thing to see Bob Kubica get back in the car. His internal makeup is incredible, heroic. He was also in at least one harrowing wreck that I recall, where he escaped unscathed. I hope he gets a ride, it could notch up the level of action on course. |

An hour of Robert Kubica, link in the comments. So ridiculously fast. Put him in a Ferrari.

I just can't stand Lewis Hamilton. The guy has nothing special, he's just been lucky to have had winning car since the beginning of his career. I hope Vettel wins the WDC to humble that arrogant number 44, but at the same time I time I'm realistic and Mercedes have more track advantage until the end of the season. What a boring race once again, excepted for the Perez/Ocon crash.

I didn't say he's bad, he's just a good driver in a very good car. Whatever he says of Ferrari, he's always had preferential treatment since the beginning of his career. By the way, excepted for Alonso and Button he never had great teammate while at McLaren.

His 2008 win in Brazil was very fishy...the win was donated. He is a good driver no doubt, but still a bit of a youngster, not a full grown up.
That's why Kubica is such a welcome sight. A guy who had to overcome a hell of a lot just to function as an adult, and now at an older age, is trying to get back in the car, and should be able to do so. That's F1 to me, the triumph over obstacles. |
