Default Weather Girl: Alessandra Sorcinelli

Alessandra Sorcinelli is a former Italian TV weather girl turned model who has also been named as one of Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi's 'Bunga-Bunga' party 'babes' ..... whether she is a woman's whose affections are negotiable is a subject of some press speculation.

She was paid £100,000 (at around £8,500 a month), to attend a number of his 'parties', with the last payment coming in January 2011. According to investigators, Berlusconi himself paid her (in July and September last year), 20 thousand euros, in two wire transfers for 10 thousand euros each. In the descriptions of the transactions recorded by the bank, they read: "Bank o / c ... Silvio Berlusconi ... Alessandra Sorcinelli favor of interest-bearing loan".

Her Career Highlights/Lowlights:
  • She competed in beauty pageants.
  • She started on TV as contestant where she was described as a political science student and aspiring journalist.
  • She presented the TV show "Living Better"
  • Participated in the program "One two three stable", and
  • Appeared in a mini-skirt to present the weather forecast of December 2, 2008.
  • Apparently she’s been on the game show program “affari tuoi” which is allegedly one of the worst Italian game shows around.
  • She has previously had a relationship with a guy called Cristiano Angelucci who has been on Italy’s “Uomini e donne” TV program.
They Said:

Italian tax Investigators are said to have found "interesting photos" from the 'elegant dinners', with pole dancers allegedly stripped off, or females wearing kinky nurse and WPC uniforms. The women all appear to have been paid large amounts in 'expenses' to attend and be nice.

She Said:

He helped her through "difficulty" and the 74-year-old's parties were "elegant dinners".

Trivia:
  • A poll yesterday showed Berlusconi's party's popularity has gone UP 2.6 per cent through the allegations.
  • She dies her hair colour .... often

Default TV4 meteorologist: Tone Bekkestad

It never rains but it pours ..... yet another naughty weather girl is one Tone Bekkestad, who although Norwegian, was Sweden’s TV4 meteorologist, and who was disciplined by TV4, after she posed for a couple of rather tame photo's (which they considered risque), in an issue of a popular men’s magazine.

The piece in Slitz magazine was highlighting Sweden’s best looking women, and her pose, in tight, low-cut jeans, an open black blazer, and with her cleavage partly showing - was apparently considered too much for the broadcaster.

She won’t be in the frame because her pictures in Slitz don’t fit with what TV4 stands for,” said Kinna Bellander, channel spokeswoman.

Bekkestad, who said she was duped by the magazine into thinking it would use other 'less provocative' pictures, was reportedly put on three months' unpaid leave from her duties as a result.

Bekkestad criticized Slitz for the publication of the pictures, but the magazine said it did not trick Bekkestad, saying she had a great time during the photo shoot. Judge for yourself as to whether the station was over reacting.

Default Actress: Vera Reynolds

Vera Reynolds was an American film actress. She started out as a dancer, then worked as a Mack Sennett bathing beauty, before becoming a leading lady in silent motion pictures .... and almost completely forgotten now

She was described as having a "bubbling over personality", and was noted for being very small .... so much so that reporters noted that she reminded them of a little girl than a mature movie star.

Her first film was in 1917 and the last in 1932 and spanned between 45 and 50 movies, but none of them were particularly memorable, except for maybe the titles e.g. 'Flapper Wives', 'Military Maids', (both of which could have featured on this site in different contexts), and my favourite 'Gorilla Ship') ... she was well enough considered as an actress to be a WAMPAS Baby Star of 1929 (although that didn't mean that much, as we have seen before).

She is here though for different reasons ... firstly on August 28, 1927, police in Hollywood reported that she had taken poison. However later the same evening she clarified with an explanation that an excited telephone operator had phoned the police when her mother only requested a doctor.

The police arrived along with an ambulance and the actress was found unconscious on the floor of a bathroom in her Hollywood home and writhing in pain. Police reacted when the actress' mother, who was outside the bathroom, said she believed that her daughter had taken the poison by mistake, believing it to be medicine.

Despite the actress's protestations she was transported to the hospital emergency room and given emergency treatment where the doctor said that he failed to find any trace of poison. Instead he thought Reynolds may have suffered an attack brought on by acute indigestion or ptomaine poisoning.... in fact it was a giant wind and flatulence attack! Police had discovered a half-filled bottle of poison in the bathroom which led to their initial conclusion .... Vera, upon returning to her home, described the initial report as "ridiculous. I have too much to live for", she said. "Life is indeed very sweet and I am certainly not ready to end it yet". But all in all an embarrassing incident.

This would have been enough for my interest, its certainly a first for this thread, but she had the romantic problems, these girls often had ... in this case she married comedian Earl Montgomery; they divorced in 1926 and she went for marital bliss a second time with a Mr Robert Ellis Reel but, and there's always a but isn't there, in March 1938, it was reported that a breach of promise suit was brought against Robert Ellis Reel by Reynolds.

She sued Reel for breach of promise, asking for $150,000. She contended she lived with Reel for nine years before she learned that they were not married. The suit claimed he promised to marry her, but failed to do so. During a recess in the trial, Hollywood film director Bob Vignola, who believed the case could be reconciled out of court, assumed the role of peacemaker .... Reynolds claimed to have had a marriage ceremony with Reel in Greenwich, Connecticut in 1926. Reel denied there had been a wedding and stated the two had lived together unmarried. He remarked they "had the edge" on their unhappily married friends.

Unfortunately how this was resolved is not recorded in the Internet records ...pity! .... its claimed on many sites that they remained 'married' until his death which may be a clue.

Trivia:

She was sent out on loan by Sennet studios so often, that it was said that she seldom knew where her dressing room might be from day to day.

Default Actress: Lina Basquette

Lina Basquette was an American actress who had more than 75 years in the entertainment business which began in the silent film era. It started with the death of her father and subsequent remarriage of her mother to dance director Ernest Belcher, she and half-sister got an early start in dance and entertaining. This included performing as a child the Ziegfeld Follies and securing her first film contract at the age of nine in 1916 with Universal Studios for the silent film series, Lena Baskette Featurettes.

In 1923, she was somewhat ambitiously dubbed "America's Prima Ballerina" and in in 1928 was named a 'WAMPAS Baby Stars' ... her career probably peaked around then with her performance in 'The Younger Generation' directed by Frank Capra, then followed by 'The Godless Girl' directed by Cecil B. DeMille, arguably the role for which she was best remembered. It was in this film, that she successfully made at the transition from the 'silent era' to the 'talkies'.

But by the end of the early 1940's her career had finished and from 1947 to 1974, she ran dog Kennels in Pennsylvania. She became one of the best-known breeders and handlers of champion Great Danes in American dog-show history, and also wrote several books on dog breeding. She made on last show business comeback in 1991, when she was cast as 'Nada' in filmmaker Danny Boyd's 'Paradise Park'.

She makes it here because like many of the girls of that era she had a tumultuous personal life with marriage following marriage .... the first was in 1925, after Basquette began an affair with Sam Warner (of Warner Brothers) and the couple married on July 4, 1925. She was a mother at 19, and a widow at 20 when Sam Warner died from a brain abscess complicated by pneumonia. Warner left her $100,000.00 of his money and $40,000 from a life insurance policy, a car, the household goods, and $85 a week from one of Warner's trust funds .... an absolute fortune.

Basquette began an affair with DeMille's chief cameraman, and she agreed to marry him in 1928. But by 1930, Basquette was broke with her fortune gone, and she spent a good amount of her time partying with fellow actresses Jean Harlow, Clara Bow and Carole Lombard. When Basquette began to neglect her family, Warner's older brother, Harry, filed for legal guardianship of Lita Warner and it was awarded on 30 March 1930. Basquette was never financially stable enough to regain custody of her daughter and in 1931, Basquette, now divorced from Marley and between husbands is depressed and tried to commit suicide by taking poison.

As well as her numerous marriages, she also had well publicised affairs with celebrities such as former world heavyweight boxing champion Jack Dempsey. She also suffered being raped in 1943, by an AWOL serviceman who trespassed onto her Pennsylvania farm. The highly-publicized crime led to the soldier getting 20 years in prison.

Marriages:
  • Sam Warner (m. 1925–1927)
  • J. Peverell Marley (m. 1929–1930)
  • Ray Hallam (m. 1931–1931)
  • Theodore Hayes (m. 1933–1935)
  • Henry Mollison (m. 1937–?)
  • Warner Gilmore (m. 1948–1950)
  • Frank Mancuso (m. 1959–?)
Trivia:
  • She named her 1990 autobiography 'Lina: DeMille's Godless Girl'.
Pictures:

She has a thread here, including a number of nudes (so well worth a look), and any additional pictures should be posted there ..... illustrative pictures only below.

Default Actress: Sue Carol

Sue Carol was an American actress and talent scout/agent ..... she may well best be remembered as the agent for the actor (and her Husband) Alan Ladd.

Her career began when at a social function in Los Angeles a director offered her a minor part in a film ..... how could a girl resist? She took it and thus began a career from the late 1920s into the 1930s, that never really rose above playing minor parts, although she was one of the WAMPAS Baby Stars in 1928. The arrival of the talkies seem to have coincided with her 'retirement' .... she made only two films after 1931.

However she met (and later married him in 1942), the leading actor Alan Ladd and thus started a career as an actors agent .... She had been married to Allen H. Keefer, (divorcing in early 1929). In November 1929, she married actor Nick Stuart who she presumably divorced before she married Mr Ladd.

However nothing very unusual in all of this but for one strange incident .... she was a suspect and questioned in the the disappearance of a baby from a Brooklyn, New York family .... The family had complained that the baby had been taken for adoption in November 1932 by a woman who said she was acting in behalf of Sue Carol .... In 1933 she was cleared.

Trivia:

For her contribution to the motion picture industry, Sue Carol has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 1639 N. Vine Street.

Default Actress : Beverly Roberts

Beverly Roberts was an American film and stage actress of the 1930s, and entertainment business executive through the 1970s ... she was first spotted by a Warner Bros. talent scout while singing in a nightclub in 1935 and having acted on the stage. She signed for 'Warner Brothers', and starred in her first film in 1936, 'The Singing Kid', opposite Al Jolson. She was opposite Humphrey Bogart in 'Two Against the World' in her next film and seemed set for super stardom, and from 1937 to 1939 she starred in sixteen films ..... but somehow the public didn't take to her.

It maybe because she had a very close companion and bosom friend in fellow actress Wynne Gibson (who has a thread here .... so you can see what the 'attraction' was), who lived with her. They had met on the set of the aptly named 1938 movie feature 'Flirting with Fate', and were inseparable ever-after, until Gibson's death at one of their shared homes in 1987 .... sometimes the public can just sense something they don't like.

Whatever the cause (and she wasn't a natural beauty either), she allegedly finally left the movies after losing a string of parts to other actresses including Bette Davis and Olivia de Havilland. By 1940 she had returned to singing and stage acting. In the late 1940s and early 1950s, she was showcased in numerous radio and television appearances. In 1954, she finished as a performer and returned to New York and took up a new career as administrator of the "Theater Authority", whose members comprised the five entertainment unions and which governed the performers who appeared in charity functions and telethons, and which she stayed with until her retirement in 1977. Needless to say she never married

Quote:

On her roles:

"At Warner Bros we made gritty realism films for the real working-class man, whereas Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer were filming extravagant musicals – escapism films that were out of this world," she once recalled. "MGM created stars and groomed them. At Warner's you were given work on a film whether it suited your character or not."

On Star Status:

"If you refused to do a picture, the result was suspension," she recalled. "They cut off your salary and made it impossible for you to work in the industry, while, at the same time, extending the time you had left on your contract. Bette Davis and Olivia de Havilland were able to fight the process. I wasn't in that position."

Trivia:

She starred in 'God's Country and the Woman', which was Warner Bros. first Technicolor film, in which she starred opposite George Brent.

Default Actress : Karen Morley

Karen Morley was an American film actress whose career spanned the 1930's and 1940's. A graduate of UCLA, she started working at the Pasadena Playhouse, where she came to the attention of the director Clarence Brown who was looking for a stand-in for Greta Garbo in screen tests ..... ah well, from little acorns, mighty oaks etc etc

She signed a contract with MGM and got her first named role in "Inspiration" in 1931 ... she went on to make around 50 movies of which the best known are possibly "Scarface" and "The Mask of Fu Manchu" both in 1932 (and later "Pride and Prejudice" in 1940), but by 1934 she had left MGM after arguments about her roles and her private life. From then on she worked as a freelance .... however without the support of a studio, her roles were less frequent, but she continued to get good parts such as the supporting role in "Pride and Prejudice" in 1940.

Her career came to an abrupt end in 1947, when she was forced to testify before the House Un-American Activities Committee and she refused to answer questions about her alleged American Communist Party membership..... despite this being her constitutional right, she was blacklisted by the Hollywood studio bosses, and she was never able to rebuild her acting career. She made a late comeback in the 1970's when she took TV work, appearing in episodes of "Kung Fu", "Kojak", and "Police Woman".

She maintained her political activism for the rest of her life. In 1954, she ran unsuccessfully for Lieutenant Governor of New York on the American Labor Party ticket.

Trivia:

In December 1999, at the age of 90, she appeared in the magazine Vanity Fair in an article about blacklist survivors.

Morley was married to director Charles Vidor from 1932 until 1943, and from 1943 the actor Lloyd Gough until Gough's death in 1984.

Default Miss Beer Queen: Jana Kaderavkova

Jana Kaderavkova was a Czech Republic model who entered a 'Miss Beer' beauty contest, sponsored by a well known brewery ..... and she won. As they were crowning her in Saaz judges complimented her on her fluent Italian.

Now being an honest girl, she happily said "Oh I spend a lot of time in Italy," she replied, "I work there as a stripper, pose for soft porn magazines and I'm an erotic weather girl on TV." .... oops

The organisers cancelled the result after this 'confession' .... organiser Petr Simacek said: "It was very delicate because our rules specifically ban entries from anyone who has done any kind of erotic work."

But furious Jana told the Austrian Times: "It’s bloody stupid. They should have asked me that at the beginning not while they were crowning me."

Pictures:

Not many cos I don't know what her porn name is .... she was in the Miss Erotica competition if thats a clue for anyone.

Default X Factor Contestant: Chloe Heald

Known as 'Chloe Mafia' on stage (but Chloe Heald or 'Candy' in other circumstances), last year she was a contestant on UK 'X Factor', which I believe is a talent show, just like Opportunity Knocks used to be ) .... however all has not gone smoothly for our wannabee superstar .....

She has been accused in the national press of being a lady whose affections are very negotiable (as opposed to being 'free', which is presumably better ... somehow) .... she also was caught on the web boasting that being on the talent contest had allowed her to make more money from those loose affections. "I'm living the high life and it is an easy way of earning cash. In a good week, I clear ten grand. I've been booked by all kinds - I've even had a couple of famous clients." .... known as Candy in this twilight world she calls herself "100 per cent English Yorkshire dirty slut". But bravely the bosses of the ITV show said she would be judged on her singing talent alone ..... her larynx is well practiced I would image

Now her sexual money making is one thing (and she claims to make £250 per hour), but hey, even on this thread we draw the line somewhere (I have had to hold one post back until the girl reaches 18 later this year ..... that's responsibility for you!) .... so we find the fact that she is a chav much more offensive, but that don't count for some reason.

Oh, and the fact that it has also emerged though that 'Miss Heald also racked up an appalling catalogue of crimes as a young teen - being arrested 140 times. With her then-boyfriend, she was constantly falling foul of the law, with offences including violence and street robbery.... still girls will be girls eh?

So this thread says what the hell, "Good Luck to you Chloe Mafia " .... your no worse than the rest of them, and a good honest commercial sense in a girl, is what many parents desire for their progeny

Pictures:

What a world of shallowness we live in eh? so easy to just go along with it
