The Australian Magpie used to scare the crap out of me, going to and from work back in the early 90s, I probably made things worse by ignoring all advice, and running as fast as i could past their nesting site in order to avoid being attacked..
It never worked...

Can't believe that no one has mentioned the best thing about living in Australia and that's the fact that we have Australian Rules Football without a doubt the most spectacular, exciting and entertaining spectator sport in the world. OK guys i am a fair dinkum aussie . i grew up in a place called Eimeo outside of what was at the time a quaint country town called Mackay. i lived on 3 acres of land backing onto my granddads 70 hectare cane farm . in the morning walabies would graze on our front yard . i saw at least a snake a day as our red cross cattledog was %50 dingo . when we came home he would scout the perimetre of the property and kill any snakes that had crossed the boundary . i have been bitten once by a snake that bit me three times before i knew what was going on but it did not inject any venom . i have killed many snakes with a spade back in the 80's .

i feel i live in the safest place on earth . yes if you are unwise and aggravate the wildlife your gonna come of second best but at least it's only wildlife not some moron with a grudge or a natural disaster like an earthquake . just recently i had the priviledge of observing a green tree snake on the hunt . i got my kids together and showed them what it was doing and why it had to be left alone . i also hand feed the magpies in my area . if i go outside my front door i will have two or three magpies swoop down and land at my feet .

For some reason, probably mild insanity, my eyes turned this Cossacks into Cross dressers.
