Server s58 is down. Any file link on s58 will not download.

Support are aware of it and are trying to fix it.

I haven't been able to get anything to finish from them in months, I gave them away.

Was just informed by Andy over at Filefactory, that download speeds for
free users have been increased "dramatically", as well as the number of
downloads by free users, being changed from 1 file every 3 hours, to a
max wait time between downloads of 5 minutes. I'm assuming that this
has taken effect immediately, but I don't really know.

As of two weeks ago they were reporting this:
If you receive a message stating that you have exceeded the hourly download limit for free users, you will need to wait until the limit has been removed.

Free / anonymous users are able to download one file every 180 minutes.

So would be interesting to know if things have changed for sure....

Yep, things have changed (for the good

) - thanks bigbobnobody for the "heads-up"

You don´t have to wait 3 hours between downloads anymore...I just came to realize that just some minutes after the last download being made I could go for another one. (on FreeUser-Mode)

As for the speed, I don´t see any difference...downloads come through at the fastest possible way which the (my) connection does offer

...but this must not necessarily reflect a splendid scale

Of course there is. FF's done this, to hopefully take business away from
other file hosts. None of these file hosts are non profit organizations lol. If
Ficatier was the only file host in existence, it would make Rapidgator look like
the old Megaupload. None of these file hosts do ANY thing without reason, and
99.99% of the time, that reason is $$$.

Just checked the downloadtime for a movie at around the 1Gb size mark.

Since I have a reasonable fast broadband,it would still require 2-3 hours to download.

Mediafire and 1Fichier would let you do it in I reckon,no more than 15 minutes,even faster I guess.

So for a free user,as myself,it´s no option.

Thanks for the heads up anyway,but not for me.
