I would forget about Mediafire, I hear they now have a no porn policy and if they find it they will shut your account. Some big VEF uploaders have already been hit.

I've gotten two strikes from mediafire in the recent past and had a couple files deleted that have since been replaced. Lately I've been disguising my uploads with a file name that doesn't represent the content. So far it has seemed to work. I guess the next step would be to split a large file, then pack and zip each piece with some extra data (small text file) to throw the checksums off even more. That will make it a bigger pain in the butt to reassemble for everyone. But what else can be done?
I looked briefly at Depositfile's TOS and they have a no porn policy too. Then again many hosts always have had them. They just never enforced it because they liked the revenue generated from the traffic.

As a uploader i have to say i dont want to upload to a hoster only because it is good for Free-Users. There are many other things u have to pay attention to. How is the upload speed? Does it offer remote-upload? How ist the data security (HDD-Crashs and lost files are typical to many of this new amateur-projects who call itself OCH)? How comfortable can i host my files? Is the OCH known for working together with the media industry (like mediafire) and therefore useless?
For me it is also important, that i have the possibility to renew my PA through my uploads like i did with RS (dont mix this with hosting for cash because this is something different in my opinnion). So i do understand the needs of a downloader (because i am one too) but the downloaders have to understand the needs of an uploader too. It will be hard to find a compromise. |

I see around the filehosts threads on more than a few forums people are getting sucked into thinking the hosts below are a good replacement for closed large filehost accounts from the likes of rapidshare, mediafire etc
FREE hosts (No premium membership available) peejeeshare (up to 1Gb) zippyshare (up to 200mb) 2shared (up to 200mb) The cold hard reality is when the above hosts bandwidth usage costs starts to climb towards their Ad revenue they delete what ever they need to to keep their operation sustainable peejeeshare recently did just this to get their model under control when it was being over run by uploaders. Their a short term fix at best Last edited by buttsie; September 2nd, 2013 at 03:21 AM.. Reason: correcting inaccuracy |

I was going to mention them way back in March / April when several members on another forum tried a few files and got blistering download speeds but my experience with this type of host is once its exposed to high level bandwidth usage the shit hits the fan sooner rather than later.
2shared when it was off the radar for example allowed multiple parallel downloads but capped bandwidth usage at around 750mb an hour.Had its own internal search engine (now removed) and regularly downloaded at 300KB Since its been listed on mirror creator as an option its speeds are closer to 100kb. The price of being exposed The last file I downloaded from peejeeshare (somewhere on VEF) was downloading at 1.4mb Most likely due to the same reason rapidshares speeds are through the roof (if you can get access) - mass deletion of files |

Bummer !
As some of you know I started using Packupload and 1fichier for the files. Now today I checked if all files were ok but for the moment the 1fichier site is completely down (they're having a big update on the servers), check with google for "1fichier down" and read all about it.
I even think that they're moving to a new site called DStorage.fr . So for now only my PU links are working. C . Update: just read on twtr that the transfer is done for 40%, so it will take probably to tomorrow that 1f works again.

I have started to move all my Rapidshare files over to Filefactory, It's been around since 2005 so I don't think they're likely to suddenly disappear. I hope not anyway.
Premium costs £8 a month so not overly expensive, premium give the same benefits as any other premium host account. Unlimited storage, downloads etc.. the maximum upload size is 2000mb but that's a bit pointless because free users can only download files of a maximum size of 500mb. Uploading is done through the browser and I found it a little slow but I suppose it depends on the speed of internet connection. In my account settings there are three optional download settings ( all credit to Watashi for this) 1) Direct Downloads When enabled, downloads of all FileFactory files start automatically. 2) FileFactory TrafficShare When enabled, your users can download your files without waiting and without ads. Once you exceed your monthly allowance, your downloads revert to the free download system. 3) FileFactory Digital Sales When enabled, you restrict your files to be downloaded only by other FileFactory Premium members. You then earn a commission on all sales generated from your account. Direct Downloads does as it says, all downloads start immediately without visiting the captcha screen or waiting for a countdown. TrafficShare removes all the ads and allows faster downloads. 100gb/month is included free with the premium account after 100gb has been downloaded it then disables TrafficShare for the rest of that month. Extra subscriptions can be purchased if you want to allow more than 100gb but a waste of money IMO. FileFactory Digital Sales is for people who want to earn and because it puts all your downloads to premium members only is not allowed here. I would recommend making those first two changes, I uploaded a couple of magazines last night download them if you want to see how it all works. http://www.filefactory.com/file/6q3mmrvpyrgr/ss93.rar http://www.filefactory.com/file/cml04hrgszj/pir45.rar
