Maybe young Stuart should buy a copy of Marcus Trescothicks Coming Back To Me book that talked about how Murray mints went a long way to giving England key advantage to win the ashes in 2005. I suspect without the mints it would have been far closer https://www.theage.com.au/news/crick...516262972.html Funny how when minty man wasnt there they got flogged 5-0 in Australia Bring the proof and expose the cheats what ever country i say The idea individuals do this is a joke The biggest question in all of this - If ball tampering is so bad why did none of the past convicted players ever serve a serious ban? The penalty is the same for a slow over rate Maybe in the future when playing on non-responsive drop it pitches which end fast bowling careers maybe offering the team bowling some mints might be smart way of keeping the audience interested as well as keeping the bowling team from desperate acts of stupidity that dont do the game any favours. Last time i looked Australia if no 1 across all 3 codes would get a 4% rise from 25 to 29% Gross revenue 338mil - its all about the honour of wearing the baggy green Where ever excessive commission is involved - corruption wont be far behind it Last edited by buttsie; March 27th, 2018 at 09:40 AM.. The man who has fostered and encouraged the extremely poor behaviour of Australian cricketers, the coach Lehmann should be sacked. Until that happens then the current culture will continue. I'd be looking at someone like Gillespie as new coach.

The punishments handed out yesterday are more of a face-saving exercise than the 'real' deal.
Defies belief that Lehmann was unaware what was going under his ultimate charge. Expect ultimate lengthy bans (at least 12 months) for the three stooges. Bancroft may be considered dispensable but why risk your career for that ? Smith will probably get back some time. As for Warner why did he not do the deed himself if it was his idea ? The real loser is Test cricket. |

Penalties to Smith, Warner and Bancroft handed down by Cricket Australia (reportedly). 12 months ban to Smith and Warner, 9 months to Bancroft. Smith and Bancroft also must serve a following 12 months before they can be even considered for any leadership positions. Warner will not be considered for leadership position ever again due to his "lack of contrition".
Bravo to CA for acting well beyond the ICC regulations, and maybe a signal that other countries can follow. Ball tampering is rife across all teams, but others accept the ICC penalties and move on, or appeal the penalties and still just move on even when the appeal is rejected. I would suggest many cameras at all top level cricket will be looking at other areas than the actual live cricket action much more intensely than ever before. |

The BCCI have axed Smith & Warner from the IPL following Cricket Australia's just decision. The players will be able to play club cricket and will be encouraged to do so to maintain links with the cricket community whilst serving the ban.
In addition, all three players will be required to undertake 100 hours of voluntary service in community cricket. Smith will be required to front a media conference in Sydney. They have got a place organised for him. There is little public sympathy for them here in Australia, especially Warner whose idea it was and instructed Bancroft on how to apply the sandpaper (not yellow tape as they had lied about) to the ball. I'll be very surprised if they appeal the ban as the uproar here will be deafening. Sponsors of the players are dropping them as breaching their contracts. |

The best analogy of tape-gate
Baldrick (Dave Warner) had a cunning plan Many of those commentators who were looking for blood now think the penalties are too harsh I see Michael Clarke is still hunting for Lehmanns head even though hes already said October 2019 hes out of there Australia must change their style of play and stop "butting heads" with opponents after the ball tampering scandal, says coach Darren Lehmann. West Indies bowler Tino Best: "I honestly believe everyone is overreacting. Look there isn't a professional player who hasn't done it, cricket is tough especially on flat wickets." http://www.bbc.com/sport/cricket/43571509 Australia ball-tampering: Michael Vaughan 'pretty sure' it took place during winter Ashes "I am pretty sure it was going on throughout the Ashes series - but it was not the reason England lost 4-0. They still would have lost the series." http://www.bbc.com/sport/cricket/43549074 Last edited by buttsie; March 28th, 2018 at 10:04 PM.. Reason: adding |

What's in your pocket today, just a piece of everyday cricket equipment, sandpaper, its not like a hair full of Brylcreem is it.
Sadly we are all talking cricket for the wrong reason, I just wonder what a certain Ritchie Benaud thinks of it all . |
