I'm so tired of 'Please thank me' wankers
(I left off the original posters' nicks.)

They don't have fun by sharing but only get a hard-on by watching the amount of thanked posts. What poor souls they are! When leechers don't take time to click the button, so what? Does anybody really believe they would if you whine? I'm so tired...

If you just tell them to thank you, you can reach the heady heights of one thanks per 50 downloads, I sort of like thanks, shows your appreciated, don't usually ask for them though, sometimes do it for a laugh, best not to get too anal

The act of thanking this post is a sort of satirical comment in itself; but I know what you are getting at, Al. For some people, solipcism, the idea that nothing and no one exists outside their own field of vision, is a nagging fear; the act of being thanked proves to them that other people exist, that they are not wandering alone through the deserted ruins of VEF. In short, they are lonely and they want to be loved.

sadly, some people don't have lives outside of the internet; so this is the only way they can ever get any thanks........... those of us that have other things in our lives were we can get real live thanks; like a shake of the hand or a thank you card or letter of appreciation, aren't so bothered, i don't think...??

Could be worse....there could have been no thanks button.
Imagine, there you are, you've just found a 56 page long thread of you favourite model who's very hard to find. You think you've struck gold! Then you find out that 55 pages are posts by people thanking the OP, the OP thanking the thankers, the thankers thanking the OP for thanking them, and the occassional awkward 16 line poem or ode from some sad-sack who's probably never had a girlfriend. |

To be fair if someone has taken the time and trouble to post movies or scan magazines a little thanks is not too much to ask.
The fact they have to ask people is wrong as people should thank them anyway,it seems to me that certain people feel it's their god given right just to come to a site and download what they want for free without any form of gratitude, that's what is wrong. |

I have to admit i have been guilty of making a few please thanks posts. Not for my posts though but for someone else. A while back i saw someone moaning that a link in one of Kenmil4's posts wasn't working and was almost demanding that it be fixed.
The user in question had hardly ever pressed the button so i posted something like "how about you thank for what you take first?". Now that i have made a few content posts myself i see it in a different light and understand why people post and for the majority of people it isn't an e-penis thing, i've got more thanks than you. It's just a fun thing to do. However i still believe that members should be encouraged to thank people because for new posters it is good to feel that your post has been appreciated and it then makes you more likely to post again. That is why when i see someone starting out posting i may offer some encouragement and mention the thanks button.
