How do I join scanned pages under Linux?

Attention: There is a prevalent email scam happening everywhere where the sender claims to have a password to a site and demands money in some form. Ignore it, do not respond and at most change passwords on any sites you frequent.

Effective immediately, moving or animated GIFs are not allowed in signatures. If your signature has one, please remove or replace it asap. Staff will remove them as and when we see them without notice.

Sincerest apologies to everyone for the recent blackout. VEF and several of our sister forums had a major server malfunction. The database index is being rebuilt from scratch and may take at least several days to be fully restored. Expect major weirdness and lots of glitches in the meantime. Hello I finally managed it to buy an A4 scanner. My problem is that some pictures in the magazines span over two pages. How can I join the 2 pages after scanning them? I've heard that Photoshop has a command for doing this automatically, but I have no Photoshop. I assume that gimp has the same functionality but I can't find it. Can anybody tell me how to do the job with gimp? Does anybody knows another (Linux-)tool that does the work? Thanks in advance!
