It was a strange attitude from my mother. I observed one of the countless sides of women hypocrisy.
She acted as she was "horrified" to do that, the lobster was "screaming", my aunt was leaving the kitchen laughing: "that's horrible"... but they bought and "martiryzed" these lobsters.

I haven't eaten animal crackers since I was a kid. Occasionally I think of dropping a box in the cart and noshing a few, for the nostalgia value, but I keep forgetting. As I recall they have a unique, faintly lemon/graham taste.

I think we get the point you're making.

I've eliminated all red meat and fish and it's actually improved my health. No, I still have chicken occasionally and some lightweight dairy products. But the cruel way many animals are treated is simply apalling and changing people's backward thinking is going to take decades, although there has been quite a lot of progress.

I do feel sorry for them They're usually the most expensive meal in a seafood restaurant and I feel because of that not enough people enjoy them for that reason, very sad considering how tasty they are, a real wonder of nature IMO
