Sorry but this is clearly a nationalist forum. Looks like a radicalized variety of Pan-Slavism (a 19th century nationalist movement like Pan-Germanism or Pan-Romanism). You won't find the facts there due to their "alternative history". It's like fighting cancer with spirit summons rather than modern medicine. Alright, this is where I'm out.

There is nothing wrong with that. I think what Norbert84 was trying to say is that this discussion is veering way off subject in a thread entitled "America". If you and Norbert want to continue this discussion it should be via PM or one of you should start a thread devoted to the subject.

As for exporting servers to China ,I don't quite follow you?BUt I think instead of sending jobs to China & Japan we should import their CEOs here, they'd work for a tiny fraction our greedy bastards would.Send ours to the Moon where Newt KachingRich wants to colonize!

As for Obama, what choice do we have? The republicans candidates are all ahole elitests, except Ron Paul ,good on most issues but not for healthcare for all.Giving them the reigns again is like giving the car keys to your young punk son who wrecked it several times!
Well, Germany left the course of a Social Democracy about 15 years ago (for nothing); England did it a while before and for France I don't have quite right a timetable. Certainly we don't have such a brutal (or turbo) capitalism as you are used to have. Now they seems to have -carefully- return back to it. The political climate (France & Germany) is having a high resistance to keep on this Neo-Liberal course. For the English I don't know, but I feel that's more a matter of the parties in the country as their citizens.

IMHO, if we are going on like this (Neo-Liberal course) the economic system is running against the wall. Too less winners and to many innocent (!) looser.
I would take less care, but our governments and parties adopt that "bullshit", coming from the US. (Example at Post #4 ).

My example with the servers was more or less jokey, outside the hemisphere of the US government had been serious, however. That was a (silly!) strategic mistake of the hosts.

Your biggest mistake in our democracies is the involved money, the parties and candidates are funding. At the exteme in the US, with legal/illegal money laundering in case of the PACs (Political Action Committees - [GOOGLE for these praxis] ).
That's the mainly reason, politicians don't listen to the voters any more, and the choices of politicians is so worse as it is. To keep that money out of the campaigns is essential - not only in the US.

I'm going to quote Brian McAlvert at least:
" ...we've seen your candidates ... and frankly ... they scared the shit out of us...."

Isn't America two nations ? the East Coast and the West Coast ?
New York in the East.. a centre of commerce... business. prob where all the money is !
Washington.... also in the East where all the political power is .. where all the taxes end up.

And then the West Coast .... California... more laid back, where all the artists are...all the cults, the wackos ...
It's where Hollywood is, where dreams are made
.... go west young man... maybe they are still heading for the sunshine state ?

California is the state with the highest density of Billionaires and Millionaires (and the highest debts). Followed by the region around Chicago followed by the region around New York.

Yes, that is 100% true. We only have the East and West coasts. Everything in the middle is a vast wilderness known as "The Fly Over Country". And it isn't true we only have 3 cities. You left out San Francisco although it is so full of hippies and weirdos it is almost just a giant commune.

California has 10% of the entire country's population and the largest economy of any of the states. (Various economic studies indicate that if California was an independent country it on its own would be one of the top ten in the world, and the US would lose its #1 spot without California.) California's economic clout is heavy enough that it can get away with having more stringent standards for car gas mileage, emissions standards and safety standards and it is such a large part of the US market that many manufacturers, rather than build separately for the California market, simply build to California's standards and sell those products to the entire country. Even the oil companies bend to California's stricter standards for gasoline enough to have separate refineries dedicated to the CA market. And the California based NASDAQ stock exchange is right up there with Wall Street in terms of dollars, volume and importance.

California's population means it has the largest delegation in the House of Representatives and so has a lot of political weight. It diverse and powerful economy means that even in the Senate, its Senators tend to get plum committee assignments. (Just try to build almost anything for the military without CA based electronics tech. We dare you! ) This also means it sends the largest delegation to the Electoral College in Presidential elections, which means it is almost impossible for someone to get elected President without winning California, so Presidential candidates spend a lot of time campaigning here (not to mention fund-raising here).
