That's exactly what I said. The doctors in the US won't like that at all.

What's next?

Ban folks for using their kitchen at their residence and force them to eat out every day?
I don't see this as a example of government overreach but more industry using government to impose it's will upon a business. they realize that it is too much money they would be given up by allowing Google to have all their meals served on the campus, also you have to you have to take into account the Freedom of the workers them having all their meals on campus is sort of used to keep the workers there working almost like a "soft Plantation" the implicit message it all the corner corporates is you better not leave here to go anywhere we provide everything you need here.

Free gourmet food at work, as much as I want, and at the same time I can save $1000's each year by not paying for lunch and not having to burn gas and put wear and tear and mileage on my car incurred from leaving work to go somewhere for lunch and back, I have no problem with that.

I am watching this:

https://edition.cnn.com/shows/the-2000s-original-series

On Episode 2, G W Bush gets elected and then 9/11 happens.

I think most people who recently were protesting the "Muslim Ban" have forgotten this:

If we're doing a New Deal on health care, might as well bring back the WPA and CCC as well. Plenty of bridges and roads that need fixing. We'll give those former executives hardhats and shovels, and make them do some actual useful work for a change.

Who knows, some of them might even come to enjoy it, like that guy from Office Space.

This sounds wrong to me. If I was sitting at a desk 12+ hours a day typing code I'd LOVE high quality free food nearby. Who is some politician to tell me I have to waste my time driving to some restaurant and buy food that is probably lower in quality?

We can put these sorts of politicians to work for the reconstituted WPA as well.

And then we have the Barbecue Police:

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/c...29-column.html

Seriously? Who doesn't love the smell of barbecue? Whenever I catch that delicious aroma drifting on the breeze it genuinely lightens my spirits.

I would not put it past some California politician to propose banning outdoor barbecues to reduce air pollution.

The food you buy will definitely not match the quality and variety of the free food Facebook and Google are giving their employees plus you will have 1 hour or less to get there, eat there or bring the food back, and then eat at your desk and by that time it will be cold.

California, Florida.... get it? Liberal Democrats with their laws.

actually I do not see the correlation between the two (911 and the Muslim ban)

I wonder if that love would stand if you had to be there for say 36 - 48 hours or even longer. I would not even be surprised if it was the workers on the sly that were trying to fight for this to happen. if I want to work like that I go offshore in work on a rig they have computer jobs that pay real world out there too.

would I trade the free food not to have to be on campus working for a week straight yes without blinking. situations like that makes you think of the gingerbread house in Hansel and Gretel.

Eh? The people I know who work there love the free food and they still go out to lunch and post pics of it online - just not that often. The single people especially love it. They have stations where in the morning people eat a bowel of cereal, fruit, donuts, etc. The 15 to 25 pound weight gain for new hires have various names. https://thehustle.co/does-working-in...s-make-you-fat

I have never heard any of them complain that they feel tied to their desks. Hell, many go to work early to get the best of the free stuff.
