An easy solution would be to use a browser that automatically blocks pop-ups by default.

I do, I'm not certain it is a textbook "pop up". Firefox has and still blocks every other site, but something has changed and Imagebam banner gif's expand and block the view of the requested picture.

I use Firefox and don't see any popups at all on imagebam. I also use Ad-Block Plus and Block Site extensions, which are likely why.

For ad-block, I have the following custom filter that may be blocking what you're seeing:
Code:
imagebam.com##.text-center
Try adding it and see if it helps.

With Firefox I have ad blocker extensions.

Probably overkill but the blockers I use are Adblock Plus, DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials and Privacy Badger.

But with Brave I haven't bothered because they are blocked by default.

I use Brave on VEF and I see no pop-ups and no intrusive overlays on any image site.

Thanks gents, I changed my Firefox extension to AdBlocker Ultimate and it has solved the issue.

I'm very found of the Firefox plugin 'Image Picka' with allows me with only a few clicks to download pictures in all tabs I've opened.
So my way of working is do a ctrl-mouseklik on every picture to open it in a new tab and then run the plugin to save all pictures of a certain size.

But for images on imagebam I first have to manually klik/refresh each tab for the picture loads which is really time consuming on big posts.

I wonder if anyone faced a similar issue and found a solution.

I found the VEF imgbox.com link is best.
Images uploaded by ImageBam (especially with the "Continue to Image" garbage) and ImageVenue take ages to display, despite me using Fiber internet.

Likewise, the VEF 1fichier.com download link is the best free download link that I know of.
