Porn is best in colour, however, I love erotica photos and they only look so good in B&W. I have a stack of erotic pics by Bob Carlos Clarke, nothing porno but the sheer quality of the tones in B&W make them so good. In colour, they would lose so much class and sophistication.

Big Grin b/w or color, it's your choice

Hi!
I have a large number of old b/w images that turn me on tremendously. I also like color images of naked ladies because they're more realistic. At some time in the past, I wished for the capability to take a really exciting b/w photo and see it in color. Over time, I learned how to color those things myself and I now have about 170 images of soft and hard porn that I have colored.

A few months back I discovered VEF and almost immediately found the colorizing thread. Now, for the last five months, I'm the only one who does image coloring here and I'm fast approaching 300 images colored for others on VEF. I'd like to extend an invitation to those of you who have a favorite b/w photo and would like to see it in color. Venture over to the colorizing thread, give your choice of colors if you have any or give me free reign. Or at least visit the thread and see what has been done. You may be glad you did. Colorizing is at:
http://vintage-erotica-forum.com/t111809-colorizing-bw-pictures-for-you-max-3-images-per-request.html

Here's an example of a b/w photo which I colored of Linda Gordon then found a similar color photo in the same setting on her thread (posted by viktor). First one b/w, second I colored, third similar color photo from same setting.

Now if that doesn't give you something to contemplate, I don't know what will.

Good Question!

Monochrome does not reflect reality, we all do afterall see in colour.

As a child I gre up with newsprint girls and a monochrome TV and in those days as a 13yo boy I could get off to the girls in the Sun or the News of the World.

To this day, I do not dream in colour, only monochrome

However, I took up photography about 30 years ago and spent a lot of time in the Museum of Photgraphy in Bradford, I looked at the works of all the big names in early photography, all monochrome.

And now

I see monochrome as a constructional art form, the shaddow and the light and the shapes caste by said light. I can appreciate the composure and the thought that went into creating the shot.....but it is art....it is not real.....we see ni colour and I can no longer get my rocks off.

Now the thing that turns me on most is nude/nearly nude/tan stockings and the subtle differences in colour between the model's thighs and the stocking tops, I do not admire black stockings to anywhere near the same level. I enjoy seeig the colour shifts between peachy model skin and her darker pudenda. I also enjoy blone pubic hair against darker pudenda.

How can we see 'pink' in monochrome?

So in conclusion

Art = monochrome

Colour= old db getting his jollies

There is a definite element of 'riskiness' about b&w photos that makes them very exciting because they were taken when such things were taboo and the girls were almost reluctant participants.

Of course many of these models were prostitutes but they have that 'looking over the shoulder in case someone sees' quality and occasionally they are amateurs who look distinctly unsure whether they are doing the right thing. What would mother say?

The only downside to a lot of b&w photos is the resolution and I must admit that a girl might have been persuaded by her boyfriend to strip off but it's a bit pointless if the image is too fuzzy.

B&W photos by nature are more artistic. Sure they can be erotic but my mind is thinking about the "art" as much as the eroticism.

Color photos are more direct therefore my mind is focused more on the model and eroticism over the artistic elements of the photo.

I never used to be turned on by them but as I get older I'm leaning to appreciate them

For me it's no contest; b + w trumps color in every way.
My first intro was through badly reproduced CC material in paperback books, so that nastiness always stood with me, and represents the ultimate in hotness.
