By saying that he cannot be found guilty of obstruction, Trump is saying that he is above the law and has blanket immunity for anything he has already done or might do in the future!

The history of English speaking civilization has been a constant struggle to prove that no one is above the law, not even the King. For 800 years the Greater English World (England, Britain, The Empire, past and present) has struggled with this issue. From the time of Henry II and King John, Magna Carta and it's successors through to the Stuarts, The Civil War, to this very day.

POTUS is an elected king and every once in a while one comes along who think that the office somehow makes him immune. Nixon thought that and he was wrong. Trump's belief reminds one of King Charles belief in "Divine Right".

But, If the only defense you have left is a belief in your immunity from prosecution, isn't that a de facto (but not de jure) admission of guilt? And then there's the Trump camp's suggestion that the president can somehow pardon himself; only the guilty talk about immunity and pardons.

Oh. the good old days when the king's head occasionally wound up on a spike. It was during those times that distant ancestors of mine undertook a 3200 mile ocean voyage in a leaky boat hoping for a better life.

I am only going to make one post on this, can't resist! I hate Trump! Narcissistic pathological liar!

On the plus side of the Trump "presidency" this is better than any soap opera or tv show I have ever seen! Everyday some new evidence and now that Rudy is on board a new "defense" everyday.

I can't wait for the midterms. I hope to somebody Dems will be able to hold him accountable.

Question: Who thinks there will be still be Trump Branded Condo's in New York in 20 years? A few have already voted to a name change.

I predict (and to be honest I'm only 2 for 7 this year) that when he finally leaves office Trump will be the first former U.S. President to go into exile overseas, probably someplace with no extradition.

Only one King (Charles I) was beheaded and they sewed the head back on
