That HF chose to close down and not remain open with a filter in place screams of them not wanting to jeopardise what remains of their profits over the past 7+ years.

Thinking of any filehosts as some sort of white knight is nonsense given quite a few were willing to divulge personal members details if it meant saving their own skins.

They couldnt give a damn about their users and the content they just flushed.

If taking down 1 filehost through the courts takes 2 years
i dont see all them disappearing anytime soon though more than a
few will go the same way as hotfile in the coming years.

Given Mr megaupload has managed to resurface something tells me until the loophole of impotent dmca notice takedowns is changed the game will continue on unabated.
