Hotfile is gone...

Hotfile is gone, and apparently gone for good.

There is a notice on the site which reads:

I just noticed that too. I downloaded from them only the day before yesterday, but now nothing seems possible

It was on torrent freak yesterday

It would appear the lawsuit which was started 2011 was settled for 80 million
but hotfile didnt wish to continue because that meant using filtering
- most likely what the likes of mediafire are using

Very strange but one might assume they have seen how much money was needed to stay afloat looking at the rapidshare example and decided it was over as a financial going concern.

You'll get over it as we all have since decent & bad hosts started disappearing like nine pins
at the start of 2012

What no longer exists on HF probably does somewhere else knowing how this game works

A google adult search is as likely to turn up an alternative link
as a search engine like files tube is if your patient and persistent

Another one bites the dust. I'm afraid it is a continuous cycle - new host starts, becomes popular, gets lots of uploads and downloads, is targeted by the "industry", battles on for a while and eventually closes down. We just have to get used to it and move on. Hotfile will not be back.

Switched on yesterday to post a couple of files I'd uploaded to hotfile the night before and my heart sank. For the third time in a s many years I've lost literally hundreds of files - Megaupload, then Mediafire shut me down, and now this.

Oh well, there's no option but to start all over again with another host. I'm just starting with my fave girls and see how it goes from there. Tell you what though, that Sisyphus bloke had it easy.
