It all started a few years ago when they began with January 1980 and I've been following it ever since right up to now (summer 1985). There are some things that bother me though. Firstly, I agree with you about the missing episodes. I was hoping that they would do it literally on a week-by-week basis but there have been quite a few dated episodes missing from the schedule (although I too think that's down to the whole Saville thing there). Also, from the episodes that are shown I've noticed that the overall quality does tend to waver some what from week to week. One week that episode has some really good 80's classics played on it and yet other weeks the choice of music they play comes across has being rather bland and mediocre at times. It musical quality really is up-and-down most times. Still great to watch though! Having said that, being a huge 80's music fan I know that a LOT of the classic 80's songs of the decade did come out this year, and although we've had some classics enter the charts (like Everybody Wants To Rule The World by Tears for Fears and A View To A Kill by Duran Duran for example) I'm still looking forward to 'The Big Hits' of the year to be played in the coming weeks and months. If I'm honest I really only want to go up to December 1987 with these shows-in terms of 80's pop culture 87 was pretty much it for me personally, with 88/89 leading up to the beginning of the 90's which was it's own distinct decade. |

I watched all the 1984 episodes including the two Christmas specials and recording 1982 and 1985 at present but I hear that the story of series reaches 1986 which is coming soon to BBC Four and I would also recommend looking out for repeats of Nile Rodgers three part series about him and his music it was very good.

Didn't occur to me until the very end but Jeri Ryan's character disappeared without explanation from the last few episodes. As did a main supporting character between the 2 seasons. Bought the full Witchblade TV series and 24 - Season 3 should be starting them & The Punisher - Season 1 soon. |

The conclusion of The Tick. Who would've thought the reboot would have so much depth.

He's not part of the show. They just bring him back in 1 episode as a hallucination. It's pretty stupid and doesn't really make sense. My guess is they just wanted to use him for promos and so they came up with a silly way to add him in. |

I've watched The Prosecutors and Life & Death Row on BBC4.
The former gives an insight into the workings of the CPS, how they decide on what case to build after selecting an appropriate definition of the crime committed and their own feelings on a sentence when it has been successfully or not as the case may be prosecuted. As with Life & Death Row the victims also form part of the programme and their desire for justice and compassion. The latter series focuses on the state of Arkansas and the governors decision to proceed with the executions of several convicted murderers prior to one of the drugs being used in the lethal injection cocktail midazolam being banned. It's a fascinating insight abolitionists and those who see executions as a form of justice not to mention the way religion is used by both sides to justify and disgree with execution. As with any good programme it makes you think and the coverage at times makes you swing from one side to the other. I have to say I did find some of the murderers families a bit nauseating to the point where you would think their family member was a saint not a convicted murderer along with their legal representation. However it did leave me thinking of a couple of those awaiting execution who should be excused so to speak and indeed the clemency board agreed in one instance. Having been a jury member here in the UK (something I would highly recommend one accepts should the opportunity arise) one can see how the law is not often cut and dried, black and white and so many things even in what one might consider a minor case need to be considered carefully. And I do think it is sad that there is no denying the fact that some of these perpetrators in the right circumstances growing up would not have drifted into crime and their ultimate fate had their parents and society taken more of an interest in them or not abused them. |

That was an interesting episode of Family Guy (S16E12). I'm not quite sure how I feel about it but it certainly gets an A for trying something new.
