An interesting from my pov development regarding the broadcasting of the game. Obviously in America, there'll be numerous radio stations call the game. From what I'm aware, a few Canadian and Spanish speaking calls as well.

But for the first time. There'll be an Australian radio broadcast of the game. 1116SEN down here in Melbourne. The new owner/ceo is a big fan of the way American stations broadcast Sport, and has plucked a guy named Gerard Whateley from the Australian Broadcasting Corporation to, amongst other things, call this game. Having done heaps of Australian football, cricket, soccer, horse racing and Olympic calls, this'll be his first call of an American football game.

Idk how he'll go. They've got the help of a Minnesota broadcaster Bob Sansevere ( I don't know how prominent he is amongst sports fans over there?). I'm not going to be listening to it live. But I tune in to the station almost all day, everyday anyway. So no doubt I'llI hear a lot of highlights throughout the rest of the week.

SUPER BOWL LII
Sun, 2/4

Philadelphia Eagles vs. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS

Total points: 45

I think it's gonna be a good game, both teams have had two weeks to plot and plan, but the Patriots' experience in the big game gives them the edge.

Good luck gentlemen!

A little Super Bowl trivia going into the game.

First SB to feature an "Original 9" NFL team; that is, teams that existed before WWII; and an original AFL team was SB I between the Packers and Chiefs.

First SB without an AFL team was SB V between the Cowboys and Colts.

First SB with two expansion teams was SB VI between the Cowboys and Dolphins.

First SB with two teams that did not start in the NFL was SB XVI between the 49ers (AAFC) and Bengals (AFL).

First SB with two teams that did not start in the cities they (then) played in was SB XVIII between the LA Raiders (started in Oakland) and Washington Redskins (started in Boston).

First SB with a team that played in the NFL's first season in 1920 and the AFL's first season in 1960 was SB XX between the Bears and Patriots.

First SB with two teams from the "Original 9" is SB XLIII between the Steelers and Cardinals.

I'm rooting for the Eagles because they've never won before. I'm not a fan of dynasties, and the Patriots have won enough. I'm not among those who think they are cheaters. Belichick and his people are just a little smarter than most of the rest, but with so many of his acolytes coaching all over the league now, that gap should be shrinking.
Eagles 30, Patriots 20. But don't bet more than a cheese steak on it.

That's some very good trivia

Halftime post, Tom Brady will now be greeted with a particular film clip every time he calls out his receivers in the future. If the coaches are really cruel, they will follow it with Nick Foles TD catch.

The Eagles have enough lead that they should win, but we really expect this one to go down to the wire, don't we? The tip off was the miracle interception of the pass that would have buried the Patriots.

The Patriots are cheaters but I don't think they are alone in that aspect... they just aren't particularly bright when it comes to not being caught cheating. Having said that I think the Patriots have fielded the most complete football teams the game has ever seen. Total focus and play hard for 60 minutes. Belichick is a superb coach.

The Eagles just beat them 41-33. I cannot believe I was actually cheering for the Eagles (Pittsburgh native and Steeler fan). Nick Foles was named MVP. Good for him. What a career.

On paper the teams are very evenly matched. I would think that the Eagles will be more vulnerable to the hype and distraction. Belichick drills his teams on being focused on the task at hand and seems to select players with that in mind. The betting public was impressed by the Eagles blowout. I am leaning towards Belichick and Brady, but don't know that they can survive falling far behind the Eagles.

Congratulations to Nick Foles and the Philadelphia Eagles on a well deserved win. I thought the veteran savvy of Tom Brady would be the difference, but it wasn't. Nick Foles showed once again that there is a limited number of really good coaches in the NFL. When a coach is smart enough to play to Nick Foles' strengths he is a very good QB. Chip Kelly tried to force him into chip Kelly's offense and Jeff Fisher was one of those defense oriented coaches who hamstrings their offense.
