Silverlight Player

Is there a way of recording from it? I occasionally visit a pay per view site that uses that player and they have a movie that I've been searching for for years but I can't find a way to download it.

I do not know if it can help ex
but I use Dwhelper options available for firefox,
several plug-ins available for download on streaming sites

Over the address bare
click tool and modules

I forgot to add in my first post I'm using windows 8 and Firefox.

I use the extension Video DownloadHelper to get most things but if it misses something, Freemake Video Downloader - so far - does the trick.

Not iPlayer though. And I see Silverlight has DRM, so I wouldn't rate the chances of doing it.

I use a program called Stream Transport. It's free and I have downloaded from sites that normally I cannot. It is not integrated with any browser, it is a stand alone program where you can enter the URL in the program and it will go to the page and fetch the video (if possible). I do not know if it will work for Silverlight Player.

It use to work on Hulu but they closed the loop hole

Another program is called Stream-Cloner 2. Not free but can be found online. This will have an addon for FF. Again, I am not sure about working for Silverlight Player.

Lastly, you could use a screen recording program that records what is on the screen at the time and just play the movie and record it that way. I haven't done it in years but I remember the quality was not the best and the video file was pretty large. But times have changed and there could be advances in terms on quality of the video.

Unfortunately they changed the way played the movies and they now open in windows media player instead. I couldn't get anything to record from that so I used a screen recorder (Techsmith Camtasia Studio) so the quality's not that great but at least I now have a copy.
