About politics
In the forum rules it's saying that except for an area, talking about politics is prohibeted. But is allowed to say when I'm saying something about my country (Romania) on V.E.T. something like that "that add was dearing for the Romania of those, since it was a Communist country with a conservative rule" ?

It would depend where you're saying it. The Rules say that you can only talk about politics in General Discussion & News, but that's a pretty big place - I can't see why you'd be talking about your country in any other area anyway. If you look through the threads there, you'll see politics comes up quite a lot, and that people can express fairly 'strong' political views as long as they do so politely and constructively.

Comment seems perfectly appropriate to me in a Vintage thread -- "That ad was daring for the Romania of those days, since it was a communist country with conservative rule." Less relevant in a Modern thread, I suppose, since the Ceaucescu regime didn't survive past (or even until) 1995, but it's not even remotely a political statement -- it's an observation on the milieu in which the advertisement was used.
Insight on the milieu from which Vintage smut originates is always worthwhile. |

Having read fictioneer's response, I think perhaps I haven't quite understood the original question. A statement such as the one quoted would not be a political one, but merely a description on the background of a posting, so I suppose it would be harmless enough if the post was yours and your comment was in the same post. If you're thinking of making a post that consists only of such a comment about someone else's post then the following part of the Rules would apply:

Totally allowed where your offering up factual information - this is a worldwide forum so not everyone is going to be familiar with every countries history with regards to erotica so such comments have value. As long as your not using politically demeaning language which might lead to others responding and ending in a flaming war. You could go further and say when erotica was legalised in your country as i recall seeing that done on bgafd.co.uk many years ago for the whole of Europe - showing the British in a democracy were the worst with respect to the adult industry....like I said a real eye opener |

The thing is that many people would start to debate with it, because they could argue that as a communist country, Romania didn't have a ''conservative'' rule at all, they had a socialist rule (which often included being against things that they find degrading to women, such as pornography). A better phrase would simply state that erotica was banned at the time.

I think the rule was introduced a few years ago because certain members were putting political statements in their signatures, often along the lines of 'Party A are rubbish and will lead us all to ruin but Party B will be our saviours'.
