After all these 18 years?

By the time it will be released, it may be 20 years.

It's been proven most sequels to commercially popular films that took too many years to be made and released don't do well commercially and critically:

"out of sight out of mind people no longer care after so long" principle.

The first one was over-rated drivel and it didn't deserve to win Best Picture nor Best Actor.

It only won Best Actor because all the women and gay men and still closeted gay men and bisexual gay men on the Academy roll of over 6,600 voting members voted for him.

Also considering the director's recent attempts at trying to revive a well known movie franchise with 2 disappointing movies, I wouldn't put too much stock in this sequel.

Mixed on that, I am down with them dropping the quirky "unexpected" & kill & smear the past aspects of Last Jedi but I also really don't want a rehash of Return of the Jedi. At the bare minimum... No forest setting, No fury alien allies & No Death Star/Starkiller base (for the love of god).

- Rebecca Hall (Iron Man 3, The Prestige) whom I am a big fan of and Eiza González (Baby Driver) have been added to Godzilla vs Kong. Hall apparently in a lead role.

- A Falcon & Bucky team up series announced for the Disney streaming service.

- Birds of Prey confirmed castings...
Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress.
Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary.
Ewan McGregor as Black Mask.

- Virginia Madsen (candyman) cast in the Swamp Thing series.

I saw the preview for season 2 of Orville while watching Thursday Night Football last night.

I also don't remember one of the toys being a girl doll.

She must had showed up in the 2nd one or the 3rd one?

It's been almost 8 1/2 years since the 3rd one, believe it or not!

I am liking everything I am seeing except the corny teen romance lines.
At this point I like the big eyes, CGI looks solid to me especially that shot of her spreading the blood on her face.

Just another example of NZ technical wizardry when it comes to CGI work....largely out of Weta Digital....the companion business to Weta Workshops...aka the very talented and clever buggers that bring Peter Jackson's film visions to practical reality....

The director, Christian Rivers, is one of Peter Jackson's proteges and has worked with him for about 30 years.....and IIRC this movie is his directorial debut...
