Watched anything good on TV lately? - Page 121

Hollywood is a pretty good presenter-last year he did something about the history of Aston Martin(he owns a second-hand Aston Martin Volante) and got to drive some nice vehicles including the once-in-a-lifetime chance to drive the new James Bond car the DB-10(featured in Spectre) which was not going into production.

There is a new trailer for the final series of 'Ripper Street' - if you recall at the end of the last series Inspector Bennett Drake confronted a killer and died having has his throat cut and Inspector Edmund Reid went on the run with his daughter even though he didn't kill him. How they are going to resolve this will be interesting.

I really have enjoyed this series of Doctor Who with Peter Capaldi and new girl Pearl Mackie as Bill. I am not that bothered that she is gay and let's face it it has another gay person in Matt Lucas(Nardole) in it too. I will miss Capaldi although I must admit I wasn't sure he was right for that part at first. Whoever they get next will have some big shoes to fill.

Yes. First episodes of season three of the deluded Count Arthur Strong. You still want to kill him...if only you could stop laughing long enough to do it.

To be honest I've kept thinking that ever since Tom Baker left. If Dr Who demonstrates anything, it's that it's durable and each new actor has to date, managed to make the character his own....even Sylvester McCoy and Paul McGann, brief as his stint was.
If you like the Doctor, have you seen The Five(ish) Doctors. Brilliant. I never realised Peter Davison was such a comedic talent.

American Gods episode 5, Lemon Scented You

*SPOILERS*

--We got a history lesson on some North American mastodon god in a kind-of cartoony, CGI/Tim Burton thing at the beginning. Don't know what that was about....
--So Chernobog is on board with Wednesday...I guess...which would be great except The All Father and his new hire Shadow got busted, questioned, then got away from the cops...all during which they got a visit FINALLY from Mr. World...none other than Marty McFly's dad.

Oh...then the cops all got killed...

--Meanwhile we get to see Shadow's zombie ex beat the hell out of Mad Sweeney when the big Leprechaun asked for his lucky coin back. Good job by Aussie Browning but especially to Stormare as Cherny.
--QUESTION: What's with the humongous aura that Laura sees in Shadow? What IS IT about that guy???? Guess I'll hafta wait.

--ANOTHER QUESTION: Which celebrity has Gillian Anderson's Media done best: Lucille Ball, David Bowie, or Marilyn Monroe?

She absolutely nailed the Bowie look imho, close second to Lucille, think the Monroe missed the mark. But, it's Gillian Anderson and even if she was dressed in only a hessian bag I'd still go there...

I really like this show and I'll keep watching, but I have to admit I found the body count and the jokey attitude to people dying in this week's episode a bit off putting.

The worse possible fate of gods I think. The one thing that terrifies Mr Wednesday is being forgotten.
