Any thoughts on the kids coming to America??
I live in the US and I do not like illegal immigration however I still have not made up my mind on this issue. If you stop kids who are alone from coming in and send them back you are terrible, if you allow them in you are just expanding the problem. Then there is the question of why Mexico, with a much shorter border than the US, don't/can't secure their own border? Oh wait that one I got, they can not even secure their own cities and country
Anyway does anyone else want to chime in??? |

I know I am going to take a lot of crap over this, but oh well. Send every single one of them back to their home country. We have an actual process for asylum seekers and they should be no different. I am one hundred percent in favor of immigration I am a thousand percent against illegal aliens. I live in AZ less than 60 miles from the boarder and I am seeing the effects of these children. First off many of them are 15 years old and have their own children in tow. Gangs are using processing centers as recruitment areas. Border patrol agents are contracting diseases not seen in the U.S. since the 1960's. Every person who comes is being fed three hot meals a day which they are complaining about as it does not taste like home. They are given new clothes from skivvies to shoes. Why can't the poor children of the U.S. get this treatment. You cannot find one gaming system in Nogales as the government purchased all of them the entertain the children. The also bought flat screen TV's, nice ones. The phone banks record the numbers dialed, not the calls themselves but the numbers. Over 98 percent of the calls go to somewhere in South or Central America, but these children claim their parents and family are hiding in the U.S. Aliens released are given a court date. All they have to do is show up. They never do. The addresses they give of where they are living in most cases are fake. You cannot have a better life by committing criminal acts. We need to call them what they are illegal aliens, return them to their home countries and let them apply to come to the U.S. legally.

Simple as it can be,don't let them cross then their Mexico's problem, they'll do something about it then. Our fearless thick headed president dosen't want to stop them,he see's them as more liberal votes.Seal the border and let those that qualify across.

SanteeFats....I like your threads.
I finally became "Terrible" the day immigrants marched up and down my street "demanding" rights for illegal aliens. Now if they were marching for rights of legal immigrants, I would be fine and would have some concern in what they say. I had finally had enough of Los Angeles and left a year later. I believe immigration is vital to our nation. I believe diversity is one thing that makes America great. But I was no longer living in a culture of diversity, I was living in a culture that was heavily dominated by Hispanic culture. After having lived there for 20 years, I had found that there was a percentage of Hispanics that wanted nothing to do with the American culture. How big of a percentage...I'm not sure, but large enough to have an effect towards racial divides in the communities. I was living middle class. My first early warning signs was that some expected me to speak Spanish, so they wouldn't have to speak English to me. Later finding out that speaking Spanish for them made you a more valuable employee. Many had the conclusion that some parts of the country were actually theirs and that they had every right to be there. Regardless. That we were illegally in their land. That we should conform to their culture. But we all pretty much know that if we moved our border northwards, they'd still be hopping it just the same. At a job I had a close friend who was trying to gain his citizenship. I dated a girl for 3 years who obtained her's. I thoroughly enjoyed our conversations about our different countries and cultures that hey hold. I can find an immigrants life achievements more inspiring than my own. What have I achieved? Worked in Hollywood for some years. I'm proud of that. But for these guys who do it right and legally...The Hard way...They changed their whole world. Those are the kind of people who can make this country great. As quoted in the Washington Times. Obama wants $3.7 billion dollars to resolve this issue, when it would only cost $19.6 million to fly the back. That's 99.5% cheaper. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/...nt-c/?page=all All I want before we start to pass any bills on immigration, is for the border to be secure first. I can't believe that a couple of days ago that Harry Reid claimed that the border was secure. They've been saying that for months while while our border had been flooded with crossings. Sorry to be so, damn long winded. It just gets at me. The kids do make it hard though, 3 and 4 year olds are pretty adorable. I'd kinda like to put the responsibility upon the parents, after all there is a procedure to do such. But when our country basically say's that it won't really do anything if they come...I think our country is to blame. |

I'm not sure if I agree with letting anyone who wants to just waltz on in. There are rules after all. What I don't like is bigots using this situation to further their agenda. I saw a story on the news last night, about how in the city of Orange, flyers were being left on people's windshields. They were from a local chapter of the KKK, trying to use this situation to drum up memberships. This offends me a heck of a lot more than letting some kids in.

All the American members here should try living in the UK....!!
Then you'd see a real problem living under a government that not only allows mass immigration, but seems to encourage it; to the detriment of the current residents...! We have a problem that is now irreversible; and I'm talking about the lack of any European borders where everyone and anyone now seems to have a legal right to come here and claim benefits for themselves and any family members they can get over here too.... The Irish, Black 'Banana Boat' & Indian sub-continent migrants of the 60's to 80's at least came here to work, willing to put in a days labour for a days pay; not just to sit here on the dole and getting free medical care while they're at it like the current bunch...!! Oh; and let's not bring up the prostitution, kidnapping, and crime that some of these new migrants also bring along with them in bucket loads...!!

My youngest went over on a three month visa to work. He had a great time and learnt a lot.
He also had had a hard time with his employers who paid him less than minimum wage. Never paid his last months wage. Had his credit card cloned which meant he had no money. Phone stolen so could not call anyone. But he got from Washington DC to New York on the help of local Americans. Seems there is a lot of good and bad guys out there. |

I remember GW Bush had some immigration reform that was shot down by the senate
It was probably some half-baked decoy, but at least it was something!

I don't really care who proposes reform, who enacts it or who gets credit for it. It must start with actually securing the border. Removal of as many illegal aliens as possible and setting up immigration that makes sense not anyone who shows up. Our Congress claims the people living in the shadows are necessary. They take jobs no American will do. Really? In TN ICE raided a meat packing plant and wiped out 3/4 of their staff. The company should have been fined out of business but they weren't. The next day they posted job openings. They day after they received so many applications they could not process them all and the were from people that were not illegal aliens. It is true most illegals come here to better their lives, many of them through illegal activity.
