One thing tht distinguishes "real conspiracies" from imagined ones is that the real ones are generally not secret for long.

Conspiracy has to hae a goal-- either it's achieved, in which case it's out in the open, or it fails, in which case it's also revealed.

For some complex conspiracy to remain covert for many years is improbable.

A landscape "grid" has been laid down where the NASA rover Curiosity landed. Curiosity is in area (grid) "51". I kid you not!

Well to start ,I wanna say sorry for my swooping intrusion in this thread to everbody here. I am now reading the entire thread from the beginning to become up to date in this thread...

its like the history channel only much better So i'm learning a lot new things here : sinking of the Lusitania, the razor stuff, a lot JFK, very interesting , operation Northwoods etc.

I also noticed the comments about don't be offendend ,its just to learn and debate which i like and understand.

I do have some about the moonlandings coming up.
this down here is about banks...How do they get away with it ?

To me this is the logical explanation. Of course there were historically conspiracies to achieve some outcome, if only of revenge. By definition nearly all crimes are conspiracies even when there is only one conspirator, but that is not meant in the case of modern conspiracies, all of which fall into a category of manipulating mass opinion, never possible before, often now for some unclear purpose.

Some alleged conspiracies would require not less than several hundred participants whose silence would have to be depended upon. (Frequently, this inconvenient factor – who would guarantee it? – is over come by the 'uber' conspiracy that involves massive media 'silence' due to a world wide cabal* of governments and corporations. The best example of this that comes to mind is the U.F.O. phenomena which was an early beneficiary.)

Oddly, it never seems to be the case that conspiracies work; that is, succeed in hoodwinking everyone. By definition (pace deepsepia) conspiracies do not work. I suppose the effect however is to suggest that indeed, we have all been hoodwinked and continue to be. This pessimistic forecast is not without some traction – think Libor!

There is, it seems, to be a need in an age when religious belief is waning, for many to seek some explanation for cause and effect, to have something great, grand and enveloping that gives meaning to existence; or has the hold that secrecy and a sense of 'what lies beneath' to help millions relate to an otherwise purposeless reality: meaning, Manichean or not, is better than chaos.

*cabal is a word that comes from the initials of five of Charles II ministers who acted secretly in consort to circumvent Parliament. Ever after it was used to refer negatively to any insider group.

I'm pretty sure the grid covering the target area was laid down before beforehand, and Curiosity just happened to land in "quad 51" which is pretty central. However, I'd imagine there were a few giggles at NASA, and I've no doubt that there would have been a few bets put on "quad 51" as the landing area!

They get away with it because Goldman Sacs is unofficially known as Government Sacs. Check the U.S. administration where it concerns banking, SEC, and the Federal Reserve going back as far as you please and you will find a current or former Goldman Sacs chairman, or senior executive in every administration. In some cases you will find several. This wall street melt down has been in the works for a lot longer than anyone realizes. The number of changes to banking, insurance and SEC regulations required to allow what happened took years to implement.
