French TV says the new coins don't work in machines. Apparently, they can't be used to pay for tickets, buy coffee or pay for parking. Do they work in washing machines?

I've got one of these!

I was given it with my change the other day when I brought something.

Can I say the 'hologram' is quite inventive-if you look at it in one direction it shows the pound sign, and if you move it the other direction it changes to a 1. Don't know how they did that.

I've made a point of not actually spending it yet until I can show some people.
