Martin Carthy/Dave Swarbrick - "No Songs"
Re-release of a rare instrumental E.P. made 50 years ago - on original 7" Vinyl format - to mark Swarb's sad passing last year.
Great tunes. No YouTube entry yet, but here's Swarb with the Fairports mucking about with one of the tunes 40 years later. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vEzRGI-Lpk0 Last edited by bloke57; June 28th, 2017 at 08:39 PM.. |

Icecross - Icecross (1973)
A Hard Rock /Psychedelic Rock album from an Icelandic band, only ca. 1000 copies of it were made at the time. It would certainly have fallen into oblivion, had not one member of the band set up a website and put the album on iTunes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9MOQRWHCJLA

Jacques-Martin Hotteterre was a lesser known French composer and flautist during most of the Classical period. He lived almost 90 years. He was born into a celebrated family of wind instrument makers and performers. Hotteterre spent most of his life in Paris making and composing music for the transverse flute(modern flute). His family's business into the construction of the transverse flute a so good, their flutes were sold all over Europe. Most of Hotteterre's compositions were flute suites. I have two discs of these suites: Volume 1 and Volume 2. This one is Volume 1. |
