Autoplay on CD/DVD drives - Page 2

I've tried clicking on 'setup.exe' and I get a small gray, oblong window for a bit of a second and it disappears, so I can't read what's written in it.

There are only two accounts: mine (administrator) and a restricted one for 'Asp.net Machine...' (Why, I don't know). The 'Guest account' is off. Does it matter if the name on the 'Administrator' account is different from the 'computer name'?

When I right-click and go to 'run as' the 'radio button' says 'Current user (A name/user). (I'm not telling anyone the name I use for my pc

). Should it say '(My name/Administrator)'?

Sorry, I've misled you with the afterthought about 'Run as administrator' - I got this thread mixed up with another thread here about a problem on Windows 7. In 7, even if you are an administrator, you can get different results using this option, but that doesn't apply to XP.

The machine's name is a completely different matter from the name of any users.

In XP SP3, whether you are a user or administrator, the radio button in "Run as..." says 'Current user ([machine-name]\[user-name]'.

The file you described in your previous post sounds like a menu file, and by clicking on setup.exe, you're just taking the first option, the installation itself.

If I were in your shoes now, I'd be trying to use screen capture to see what is written in the grey box - probably with IrfanView, since I already have it installed. You can set it to automatically capture every 10th of a second and save each image to a folder.

Thanks to all, especially MrInBetween, for your help.

I have however, abandoned trying to get the 'Two Worlds epic edition' to install, as it seems I've managed to get an earlier version to install. I've Downloaded patches to get it from V1.0 to V4.0.

Sorry if anyone feels like they've wasted their efforts to help, but I'ver only got so much patience with pc's and discs and stuff.
