When I admitted I was an alkie

they didn't believe I didn't smoke

I told them that I had puffed for years but gave it up. They did all these blood tests to check I wasn't telling lies. Doctor was confused; I should be 60 a day wino on a housing estate. He did ask me how I was able to stop smoking and not drinking. I just told him I have not a bloody clue.

When I quit smoking there were two cigarettes I missed most - the one after a nice meal with a cup of coffee, and when I was out in the pub with a beer in one hand and the inevitable cigarette in the other. I had to stop drinking for a month to kick the habit as I was driving myself soft.

I quit smoking years ago when it started getting in the way of my training.
Can't beat a fag and a pint but I now find the smell disgusting.

What I learned today: Don't overcrowd a boat in a thunderstorm (unless there is no alternative)

I've learned that you can't rely on computer servive at all. I brought my computer to a service over a damn month ago, so I got pissed of waiting and paid them a visit. They were supposed to notice me via e-mail or SMS. So, when I got there, they told me the computer was already repaired on June 29th. According to their fictional story, they've sent me an e-mail but no trace of it in my inbox. Perhaps they're not lying but I still don't believe them. However, I'm picking it up tomorrow (finally). I'm tired of Windows XP.
