Yes he is, I really like what he's doing with McDonaldsoft and it's always horrible reputation The worse W10 gets the more I like it, some weeks back My Missus updated her lap top to W10, got the expected result some hours later we went to the Apple store and bought her a Mac Book Pro, she loves the thing

I've been running Win 10 Pro since the free release on multiple systems since the origiinal release and have had no issues. I have clients that I have upgraded to Win 10 Pro that have had no issues. When Apple decides to go compatible with the majority of programs available for use with Windows machines and drops their prices to the point that us normal paycheck to paycheck people can afford, I'll think about it. Until then, I'll use what works for a price that I can afford without going broke....

That said, she does now like it more after a few weeks of getting the hang of a Mac than her old Acer. True, Apple macs are expensive, I gave my old original Mac Mini to my nieces and it's still running and now quite a few years old, My younger brother was impressed and bought a Mac Mini at a pawn shop that's a 2015 or 16 model for a bargain, That's a way to get a quality machine for half the cost. BTW, I didn't actually twist her arm right off

I just had a macbook air 2012 on the bench a few weeks ago, nice machine. I had to re-do the OS to el capitan and then high sierra, Mac OS use a Unix clone, like linux does. I saw lots of similarities. Much safer to use online than windblows. but MAC OS tries very hard to maintain proprietorship. kind of a pain.

The buggery just goes on and on
I don't suppose too many contributors to this thread will be overly surprised to learn that another couple of bugs have been discovered in the latest Windows 10 update.
Although, as the article states, neither pose serious security concerns, they certainly add to the inconvenience of using the OS. https://www.infopackets.com/news/104...-woes-continue The fact that, at the moment, it is impossible to set a default application for opening a specific filetype certainly removes a feature that has been available since, I believe, Windows 98SE. For the present, users will have to revert to the ancient practice of opening the application first then loading the file into it.

I have only 3 bitches with Win10 tbh.
1. The way it pushes file names to one side rather than leaving them looking neatly centred. 2. The inability I seem to have in selecting a smaller size VLC panel to play low quality video files, only an issue on 10, as the latest VLC player still works fine in regard to changing size of viewable video panes on older Win OSs. (hope that makes sense) 3. Losing the ability to use an image on folder thumbs to make them easier to spot.

Great - if not sorted by the time we have no option but to supply customers Windoze 10 this would be an issue. So long as Windows7FES and suitable hardware is available this will be the preferred option. |

Cutting Edge
It looks like Microsoft are planning to ditch their somewhat underwhelming default Browser Edge and replacing it with the catchily named Anaheim, which will have the same base code as Google Chrome. This is, apparently, more to appease site developers, rather than offer anything new, exciting and functional to general users (which would hardly be in keeping with Mr. Nadella's usual policy).
This could be rolling out with the next biannual update on 1st April 2019. https://www.infopackets.com/news/104...h-edge-browser .
