The EU in it's original formula was ok, we could live with that.

It went tit's up with open borders...full stop!

But hey ho,

The crap in France is just the start i guess.

Can you imagine what would have happened there if they had raised their retirement age, like they did in the UK?

We have no spine now, we couldn't win a game of tiddlywinks with a ( very challenged sighted person) The UK is every man/women for themselves, no in it togetherness nation.

Things are moving.

Come the morrow there will be an 'Emergency Debate' on the Governments failure to get Parliament's approval to suspend the current debate ie not have that vote.

So I guess that debate ends with a vote and what if the Governmt loses that one as well ? Could there then be another vote that the delayed vote should go on as originally planned ?

Commons stir as Labour MP picks up mace

A Labour MP raised eyebrows in the Commons when he picked up the ceremonial mace after the postponement of the vote on Theresa May's Brexit deal.

Speaker John Bercow asked Labour MP Lloyd Russell-Moyle to leave the House after he picked up the ornamental staff, which represents the royal authority of Parliament.

Britain will not leave Northern Ireland unless the mainly (but not exclusively) protestant Unionists feel willing to merge with the mainly (but not exclusively) catholic Republic down south. On present form, the chances of this are not high.

What will happen in Scotland is not so definite. On the one hand, Mrs May has done all she possibly could have to hand ammunition to the SNP. On the other hand, the SNP have given plenty of Scottish voters pause for thought, in that Nicola Sturgeon is not actually governing the place very well. She likes to run her mouth off a lot but eleven years of SNP government in Edinburgh is not supporting her noises. GDP in Scotland lags behind GDP in the rest of the UK even though Scotland has some strategic advantages, such as control of most of the British North Sea oil and gas; proxinity to Germany and Scandinavia by sea links; a better education system than England and Wales. Scotland has higher taxes than the rest of the UK and also receives subsidy from the rest of the UK via the Barnett formula - yet they have managed to overspend and run a worse deficit than Westminster and have still failed to improve public services. Their record of broken promises would make Donald Trump feel uncomfortable.

So it is a sort of Dutch auction in which the winner will be the one who sinks lowest in public opinion. The whole campaigning routine will be set to the tune of - You're shit...and you know you are.

As Harold Wilson said: a week is a long time in politics. We will see what actually happens in the fullness of time.

Check in with Spain & Belgium on that one.

You start pulling on that thread, and you might find that a lot more than Scotland gets put into play. Everyone is doing a lot of "well, we'll do it and we'll find out how it works as we go along"

From the Faeroe Islands to Corsica, from Wallonia to Euskai Herria, there are a lot of things that could unravel, if you create a template.

A Remain majority of 51.9% from a turnout of 72% of the registered voters will be an absolutely decisive and conclusive proof of huge British popular support for ever closer union.

Leave didn't win 52 to 48
Remain won 100%
Leave was never an option.

Bojo when coming out on the leave side of things was not because he wanted or expected leave to happen but rather long term political strategy so that when remain won ( which was fully expected till the Newcastle / Sunderland vote came in) he could forever put himself forward as a Conservative leader / PM who will stand up to Europe ( even though behind closed doors he wouldn't )

Why else have we got a remain prime minister like May after Camerons resignation ?

I won't be voting again after this debacle
