Yep, platypuses are cute and can whip your arse and put you in hospital. Apparently their poison can kill a big dog outright but no human fatalities (yet).

trailmaster, did your research reveal that the platypus is a monotreme? Along with the echidna (found in Aus and PNG) these are the only egg-laying mammals still living. As if having a duck-like bill, webbed feet and poisonous spurs isn't enough, platypuses navigate underwater using electroreception. Seriously cool creatures.

Concur, it's very lean and you have to acquire a liking for the texture.

Many years ago a friend's mum used to bake roo in a covered baking dish with lamb chops. The lamb fat tenderised the roo quite well. Then we had to put up with the friend's dad's joke of course: "Mum's making a wooly jumper for dinner".
