Or another eight-ball. As I recall, OS was the last album where the Mothers were credited? Apostrophe' was next.. Quote:
so it didn't matter.

"The present-day composer refuses to die!"
Sadly, that was not the case with Zappa. Too much coffee and cigarettes ...

damn, that's exactly what I was going to say! yes, Edgard Varese was a huge influence. you can really hear bits of Varèse on almost every piece of orchestral music Frank wrote. Orchestral Favorites is loaded with them. |

A question I often pose is when will "Roxy & Elsewhere" the movie be released, now that Gail has gone?
I remember reading on a forum that the soundtrack was prepared in 5.1 (the original shows were recorded for television broadcast and I seem to remember that a quad version of the album may have been available _ but not released). Hopefully Dweezil or whomever is controlling the catalogue will make it available. Edit: Scratch that, I just found a blue-ray on ebay. What is it 45 years ago? @ballyhoo. I was being a little tongue in cheek. Ike's reaction was mentioned in the wiki page for Over-Nite Sensation. His insistence on them (the Ikettes & Tina) being paid only $25 per song, is perplexing. |

Ironically I just revisited the wiki page and found "Roxy: the movie" has been released in a Blu-ray/CD package that I just ordered on ebay.
The Youtube previews uploaded by Amazon are blocked by copyright, however. |

Inca roads is fabulous. Developments in the 2nd part are legendaries.
He was admitted by classic "chef d'orchestre" and musicians (Boulez..). Absolutely deserved. |

Well seeing as 'too much' is by definition 'too much', I'm not sure I quite understand.
If perhaps the concern is for the health of an individual, then health could be defined as describing an individual's capacity to absorb the maximum of coffee and cigarettes. Which FZ considered 'food'. Btw, the movie Coffee and Cigarettes can't be too highly recommended to anyone who hasn't seen it. Its a bit noir (actually. filmed in blanc et noir) but features vignettes from numerous 'alternative stars'. Although my favourite scene among many is where Tom Waits meets Iggy Pop in a diner. The petty bitching over who'd have the most records on the jukebox is but one highlight in the exchange. And not off-topic neither, as Waits used to be support for the MoI, post '60s. And Ig was with Bowie when he nicked Adrian Belew from the Mothers. |
