Abuse at Facebook

Hi people. It has recently come to my atention that Facebook is suspending and closing personal accounts because the user is using a nickname instead his / her real name or because is using a company, group or organization name. Also because a user (real person) talks about his company or nonprofit organization or even his/her own work (like producer, artist, photographer, etc). They say that Facebook pages are for that instead but there is no way to migrate and all contacts saved for years just get lost forever. Further more, Facebook pages are very limited, since you only can have people who mark LIKE and not FRIENDS.

But the worst of all is that feedback with Facebook people is very difficult and when you made it they just use premade answers or their classic forums where users are also annoyed about. This week, my work account has been closed by them. Dealing with them is hostile.

I am using a nickname and never suffered any problem

It's upsetting, but they set the rules. Facebook will suffer if they cut-off many of the users. But understand they are a business and they can dictate their rules just like VEF can.

Nick-names can be an issue, due to child abuse and to fact folks are hiding. In VEF, having a strange name is part of the fun. In Facebook; it's a social communications tool... they expect you to revel yourself and to have a valid name.

As for businesses, I can see them going towards selling services, since now they are a "for profit" company.

I recently dropped off, when I started to have folks contact me for business reasons, selling services and such. That make it no longer a social network for me.

Im starting to think that facebook is getting out of hand for myself. Recently a friend on facebook posted that they are adding your own phone number. At frist i thought that it was on of those spam links that people post sometime. So i checked it out and they have posted my home phone and my old cell number. I think that once Google Plus tooks off ill be done with all the social network sites. Ill go back to the old fashion way of meeting people.

ive always thought it odd when you see an advert for a large brand company and then notice it has a link to their facebok page at end....

i always thought fb was for friends, ex schoolmates, work colleagues... not for business's.... so if u r a business user of fb and are being wiped off... tough..!!

as for the other moans, well, if the real owners are anything like the ones in the movie.. then its no real surprise they treat people shitty...lol.

As far as I see the issue is that we only can access to low level people at Facebook. This people use nicknames, not their real life names to reply you and most times use pre made messages. There is no phone number or direct mail to deal this kind of issues and dialogue as civilized people.

Some weeks ago I talked about this at my show. They have an script that suddenly blocks your account and prompts: "Your name is inappropiate" so you are forced to change it. Lot of people from Arab countries, Russia and african people have lot of issues with this because FB "considers" that their real life names are fake.

Never show your full name (incl. middle names) and full date of birth as these combined are the main ojects for identity theft. Just show your birthday without year. And skip the middle names.

I`m on [COLOR=#B800B8 !important]FaceBook[/COLOR] and think it`s safe enough .

But then i keep everything i write on my page (It`s not a wall so stop calling it a wall ) away from the public , plus don`t download any apps and haven`t listed any true personal details apart from bands i like etc .

As if you do download app`s or talk about your mother`s maiden name you`re asking for trouble , or at least are going to help out the advertisers and nobody wants that

Not that i`m desperate for chums on there or anything

Although it will give you the opportunity to see the beauty that be me
