No government will do that, they are taking lobbyists back handers. Especially the foreign companies who do not pay any tax. |

Perhaps there should be a segregated area for smokers which is hermetically sealed so the smoke does not bother other people. And if only there was some genius who could invent a machine capable of removing the smoke out of the room, like a chimney and another genius who could invent a machine that takes fresh air and put it into the room where the smoke was

It's been twenty years since I stopped playing in bar bands on the weekends but back in the day this one place we used to play (a VFW or American Legion hall, as I recall) had these air filtration things called Smokeeaters in the main room where the bands played. They did a remarkable job of reducing both the smoke and odor from cigarettes. As long as people were still actively smoking in the room you still had that but the buildup was much lessened. I've seen rock bands on tour who have big pyrotechnics at their shows (KISS comes to mind) that have their own dedicated smoke removal systems that seem to work well. The technology certainly exists but the cost may be prohibitive for the smaller pub and restaurant.

I know that here in the UK we had restrictions put upon us, but I've got no desire now to go to a pub.
Our local closed forever during lockdown, the owner choosing to sell it off as residential properties, asnd I have no desire to walk three quarters of a mile to the next real pub. There is a Function suite with a smaller bar closer, but on quiet nights it has the atmosphere of an aircraft hangar. Amazingly it's now 2 years since I drank in a pub; something that I never thought i'd say. |

My brother's got a corner of an English Pub setup in his mancave. That's really the only one I go to these days.

Not been to the pub since the start of the pandemic. Keep meaning to risk it, but can't seem to take that final step.
Unfortunately I've become too used to supermarket beer prices! |

Pubs, their tide ebbs but they're still strongly represented.
Do you go to the local strip club? Do you live somewhere in which these lands of lusciousness exist? I live in UK, sort of, and the nearest strip clubs to me are in Blackpool (England) but their licences are running out, never to be renewed. No more can I spend a hundred quid to travel to a shithole to watch skinny, boobless utterly disinterested ladies gyrate vaguely in my general direction, and I am MAD about tit! I mean, about it! Save the strip clubs! Who has a basement we can convert...? Mancave...? Actual cave??? 'Progress' is a tragic misnomer. |
