"Got the file but miss the password" - collected requests and answers - Page 3

Well, I tried everything and nothing worked. Even tried to re-download and extract. Gave up and downloaded 7-zip and used that to extract the archive. At extraction I got a pop-up asking for the password and it worked just fine. Guess I'll use it rather that winrar from now on.

7zip is also good at joining files

i guess i know what your problem is..

if you create protected archives for your own purposes and set a default password in the main program (instead of creating a separate profile), winrar will automatically use this password to encrypt the protection of any archive you try to extract.

that's not a bug, it's a feature of winrar. the GUI of winrar is very confusing / uncomfortable if you "try and error" such things

Hi, i was browsing the forums yesterday and a particular film seemed interesting so i went ahead and downloaded it. but i did not note down the password of the file and now i cannot even remember the name of the movie. so please can any one guide me so as how do i get the password? thanks!

Is there anyway that i can get a missing password of rapidshare file ,the thread just desappear from VEF got the whole film but didnt get the password

bit late, but you could also have used google and its wonderful cache

also i have got into the habbit of adding the password to the first part filename
for those many piece downloads.
