The North Face
German and Austrian teams take on the Ogre's north face (The Eiger) in the 1930s. The camera work is superb and it's tense and scary like a good horror movie. And not the usual ending either.

Story is still more believable than Lethal Weapon 4 though Currently got this on in the background Right now i`m just past the point where the gutter snipe has been shown his place , " Anything goes " is playing while Wyke gleefully prepares himself a repast Taking of the past it was amazing to see a very young looking Jude Law in the film , can`t believe i never noticed him and his trademark chipboard acting style before . Oh well suit yourself

No but you must admit he has developed as a thespian
Sort of the same way a roll of film develops when you pass a blow torch across it Not that i`m suggesting anybody should go take a blow torch to Judy of course

I'll just add The Last Broadcast http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0122143/
I watched it on Halloween and it was very atmospheric. What's even more startling is that it was made on a budget of $900. If you hate the Blair Witch Project (like I do) this is 100% better AND scarier. Ignore IMDB's stars: it it's well done and has a twist at the end. It was also made BEFORE the Blair Witch Project, which unfortunately has left it with a mountain to climb (even though I can't see what the fuss is about - I've seen scarier Moomins episodes ). |

'Run Lola Run'
This is a little gem of a movie IMO. On the surface, a simple story about a woman who has 20 minutes to come up with $20,000 so her boyfriend doesn't get to wear a concrete overcoat, but the ingenuity and creativity of the story is a joy. Three takes of the same premise occur in the film with each subtle change resulting in differing fates for all the major and minor characters. Shot at a breakneck pace with innovative editing and camera work I heartily recommend. It's a German film and should be watched with subtitles. The dubbed version (as with most) completely ruins it... |

Wedding Crashers
John: Claire's mom just made me grab her hooters. Jeremy: Well snap out of it! What, a hot older women made you feel her cans? Stop crying like a little girl. John: I wasn't crying like a little girl. Jeremy: Why don't you try getting jacked off under the table in front of the whole damn family and have some real problems, jackass. Hey, what were they like anyway? They looked pretty good, are they real? Are they built for speed or comfort? What'd you do with them? Motorboat? You play the motorboat? [makes sputtering motorboat noise] Jeremy: You motorboatin' son of a b*tch! You old sailor you! Where is she? She still in the house? John: What is wrong with you? |
