I'm allergic to nickel, or some such. Not funny, not interesting, but true. I got a rash across my stomach when I was a kid, took me days to figure out that it was from the buckle of a belt I wore (I'm not the brightest button - which is something else I can't wear). I used to have to wear an earring of the purest silver.

Yes. I said earring. Yes, I said of the purest silver. Anything tougher than that, my poor effete lobe could not handle. The second-most-beautiful girl I have ever known gave me one as a present once. (Yes, I mean an earring).

First off, how dare you insult me! I am not Scotch, I just happen to be taking advantage of their hospitality. Okay ..... I confess, one quarter of my DNA might well be scotch. Just another English mongrel I guess.

As I have now acquired a rather nice laptop complete with Windows 10 I soon expect the problem with the thanks button to be resolved. I doubt however that it will help to resolve my attitude problems, my dislike of authority or my twisted and somewhat sarcastic wit. But as they say, you can't have everything.

I am never normal, indeed I don't even know what normal is. Therefore, you need not fear me falling under the iron fist of political correctness or social mediocrity. Whatever the hell that might mean ........

You seem like an intelligent and personable individual, so might I offer you a little advice? Try not to be too habitual with the googling, it's that sort of habit that eventually leads to all the wanking .........

Well, that isn't strictly true. Android gave me problems with it, so now I'm on my new laptop running Windows 10. The thanks button now works, but sometimes I have to click on it three to five times to get it to function. So, I will give out thanks, but not quite as often as I normally would. I'm not a keen bedfellow to frustration.

This is very puzzling as I am running just the basic Windows 10 with no fancy additives. It is also completely up to date. If it is some sort of setting then I'm damned if I know what or where it might be.

I hope I'm not becoming allergic to forum posts ..................
