Default Feel terrible for John McCain but................

This man if given choice would deprive his fellow American's of bare coverage they get now, that would kill and bankrupt most with his condition, while he goes to Mayo Clinic and has his bills paid for?

I hope he beats cancer, but know if he does he would not give any thought to politics and party above common decency and repeal the same healthcare that he enjoyed in his recovery.

As someone who has kept voting him in office , I support his stance on healthcare , he wants something better for everyone but no one will give him a chance. he receives good health care for his public service , but his wife is extremely wealthy so they can afford anything they want

He had most of his life in politics long before Obama to try and propose something so Americans had a health care system.

Loved his speech defending Obama, but aside from that he's done nothing in politics for Arizona or the country but look out for the richest American's.

And the man's judgment thought Sarah Palin could be our president.

Clearly something was wrong with him during Comey's testimony and it was not staying up late to watch baseball, hope he recovers, but also hope his time in politics ends with retirement.

And now it's official.

He came with his taxpayer funded medical care, then voted to take away privileges he enjoys and now is heading home to rest up on our dime.

^ Well, he's an Arizonan. They live in a harsh place, kind of have that "old west" mentality and believe in doing for themselves.

Very different from an eastern urban existence. So I can't call him an "evil republican" for thinking the way he does. And he suffered a LOT for this country, in a war that ended up being a useless boondoggle, unless you were a defense contractor. I bet that has embittered him to some degree, but you don't see him pissing on the flag because of it. The man has old-school values, and deserves some respect.

Our health care system is just broken. All of this partisan crap and arguing over it is not going to fix it. I hate to say it, but things are going to have to get really bad (and someday they will) and another Roosevelt is going to have to step in and do a real fix, which will leave the insurance companies and HMO assholes screaming.

Not an Arizona issue, seems this disease of Republican's do as we say, not as we do boils down which insurance companies own them and their vote.

Respect should work the same for everyone.

Nothing can be worse than Nixon-Kaisergate system McCain wanted no part of changing, that's a broken system, which was really bad when anyone who got sick went bankrupt or got dropped from the coverage they paid for.

Sure the ACA could be improved but the only solution for one side is to go back to what was........nothing.

Roosevelt? These same people would get rid of his entire safety net if they could with their voucher systems.

Because of his service during the Vietnam war, I've always had a great deal of respect for John McCain. However, with his latest action, he's proven himself to be nothing but a republican stooge. Any respect I had for him vanished.

When our health care system was brought in 1975 the Conservative side of politics and the Health Funds screamed bloody murder and the conservatives did try over the next few years to eliminate it. Fortunately we are of a different mindset from out American cousins and those efforts came to naught. Our system is not perfect and sooner or later a government of one persuasion or another with have to bite the bullet and increase the levy on taxpayers that funds it, but no one misses out on hospital treatment, going to the doctor or medication because they can't afford it.

Senator McCain would IMHO have made a much better president than many who have served since the resignation of Richard Nixon (who was a total swine and a very good president). He would certainly have been a better choice than President GW Bush, or for that matter William Jefferson Clinton.

I beg to differ, Scoundrel. Although Bill Clinton had the morals of an alley cat, I thought he did a pretty decent job as president. I don't believe that McCain could've done any better.
