you're right Budo. To be selfish it is a shame it could not have carried on, it was an amazing site. But sites like his cost an awful lot of money and even more time to run. Both these things may be sort at what is an incredibly busy and expensive time for his family and friends at the moment.
I actually think it was class the way they let us know of his passing. They could have simply taken it off-line without a word. At least we know. To do it with humour is wonderful. I hope that those who knew him can read our messages and know how much we appreciated his incredible efforts. He'll be missed. That is an achievement his friends and family should be proud of. To be missed is the best any of us can hope for, and Robb will be missed by all of us who loved his site. |

'My God, it's full of stars!'
That's a shame. I noticed the site was down a couple of days ago and was curious if I'd ever learn what happened. I used to look forward to the weekly updates back in 1999 when it was (as far as I knew) the only site of it's kind (and then painstakingly deleting all the 'douglass' history items) It seemed to evolve into a resource for HQ movie-premiere photos (don't know who took them) though it kept the same old design. |

[QUOTE=Yajau Feiying;268687]'My God, it's full of stars!'
When I first got some speakers that used to shit me up! It almost felt like I was announcing to anyone in earshot... "HEY! I'm looking at porn over here!" I solved that problem by saving the 'OOPS' page as my bookmark instead..!!

Robb was a chemist, a ex-school teacher, and a real computer programmer working for massive firms worldwide. So a serious computer guy.
it is amazing how his passing is being commented on all over the world. The announcement of his death (the apology) has become part of the Internets collective memory. I strongly believe that he memory is going to live on in cyberspace. Weired or what? cool though |
