kudos for your scans. If you did them yourself, keep it up. If you found them and reposted, send a thanks to the OP. They are the right size and resolution, the original documents were well selected for quality, and the quantity is great. It's nice to be able to look at a scan, decide you want to see it bigger, and when it's bigger, you can clearly see things like the nipple peeks or contrasts on semi-see-through bras, and the shading on panties for the pre-brazillian days. Do more!

Thanks, glad you like them. Unless otherwise noted, they are my own scans that have been languishing on my hard disk for years. Here's a few more, this bunch is mostly late 80s to mid 90s ads.

Like you I appreciate the pre-digital era pics when the models still had pubes and nipples I used to post at Geocities and Tripod, when these disappeared I tried Yahoo Groups, but YG is just a bunch of spam pits these days. It was good to rediscover VEF so I can share my collection.

Also want to put in a BIG thanks for putting these on imagebam. I have problems (some practical, some philosophical) with the other pic storage locations.

One question - did you use slap-it-on-the-scanner-press-the-go-button specs for the scans you did, or did you have custom values? The quality of your pics is pretty darn good.

I was initially using the default image uploader, but a couple of folks were getting the redirection to the Interpol block page that some ISPs have in place. So I switched to imagebam.

Typically I use the slap-it-on-the-scanner-press-the-go-button method straight to JPEG output. I set the scanner to use the largest size and highest DPI it will do. Usually any moire can be taken care of by applying a little gaussian blur then resizing the image to 60%. Other times just resizing down will improve the look.

I used to have a great HP ScanJet that did an excellent job descreening, but soooo slooooowww. Then I acquired a Lexmark workgroup MFD - as a printer it was not great, but the scan to JPEG or TIF was sharp, fast and big. If retouching or gamma correction is going to be needed I'll usually output to a large TIF. Then fiddle around in GIMP or PaintShopPro.

I'll often place a piece of black card behind the page. It reduces the bleed through of text on the back of the page and seems to make the colours a bit richer.




EDIT: After posting this pic earlier I thought "hey, my wife used to have that same matching bra and panties back when we were dating". And she looked hotter than the model.... ahhh the good old days.
