Like a few other members here, I tend to start one book, drift over to another, and then recap on the one started (ad infinitum).
Currently reading: Marcel Proust - The Guermantes Way (pt. 3 of 'In Search Of Lost Time') Something of a mammoth undertaking for any reader, but nonetheless highly recommended. George Pelecanos - The Way Home Great book from writer best known for scriptwriting TV show 'The Wire'. Has well written characters that feel very 3-dimensional in their character and motivation. John Cheever - Short Stories Dipping through a large volume of shorts from one of the best postwar American writers there was (in my opinion). |

In the Loo........
(The Worst Football Kits Of All Time- Dave Moor ) ..................................... In Me Living Room.... Hold Tight - Harlan Coben ................................... At Night.........when alone........ ..for the millionth time, in the 11th translation- now. God, I wish I could read French. I can read this every year and still find new aspects, nuances and interpretations from each new publication. Some people get socks....for Christmas....I get Flaubert's masterpiece. And when alone, I read it and read it again and again. |

"Bootleg: The Secret History of the Other Recording Industry"
by Clinton Heylin Highly recommended for anyone interested in the piracy story. The thing that strikes me about the music bootleggers (and I'm a collector of live concerts, so have bought many), is how small the volumes were compared to the megauploads of the world. releases like "rare gems" were 2500 or 5000 records, and sold only to enthusiasts, folks who already had complete collections |
