They did this for how many decades with no problems? The whole point of the event was to discuss race and race relations, not to kick white people off of campus. The framing of this story is suspect. This is a yearly event why no advance notice of your intentions if you planned to abstain?

From what I got from the video they wanted whites off campus so they could do their thing without whites there.You can't defend that I don't care how you twist things around.It's the very same thing as 40 and 50 years ago of signs saying no blacks allowed only now it's no whites allowed.Why is it only discriminatory if it's against blacks.

Which is why I disagree with how the story was presented. The white students, staff and faculty were not being excluded from the activity, but a major part of it. Here is is an explanation of the history of the event.

I've heard about it and have now read a bit about it.

I think you may be cloudy of the intent of the activity. The day of absence is not for separation but a means to have a dialog about race and race relations. The day is half of a bigger activity where they would have speakers and have dialog about race issues. The school has been doing this for 25 years in it's current form with no problems until now.

Again this was the goal of the event. The problem is the dishonest way the whole situation was presented.

Anything that gives these 2 arsewipes an award for 'services rendered' is highly suspect IMO.
