First of all (my advise):
Install all "Security Updates"

Second:
If you are NOT willing to upgrade to Win10 then avoid following updates:
KB3075249
KB3080149
KB3022345
KB3068708
KB3044374
KB3035583
KB2952664
KB971033
KB2902907
KB2976987

Third:
If your're NOT running "MICROSOFT Silverlight" on your Machine you doesn't need to update it(KB 3193713)

Fourth:
"WINDOWS Malicious Software Removal Tool" isn't really necessary if your're NOT using the "WINDOWS Defender" - this Tool isn't that bad for basics, but if you're updating it through WINDOWS update it wont run itself

Fifth:
Let's have a cup(or some cups more) of your favourite drink - this update-progress will take some time(MICROSOFT)

As you may know you can unmark unneeded updates - but have an eye out for MICROSOFT-tactics of re-appearing

I'll have my fingers crossed for you

p.s.: you can contact me through "private Message" if you want to

Appreciate the help sledge, gave me the courage to do it.

It worked but it was an ordeal with several problems, I finally found and downloaded a Windows Update repair tool from Microsoft and then it was fine. Great tool, google that if you have update problems.

I feel better now, thanks!

I'm getting Windows 10 updates approximately every fortnight (two weeks). Why? This never happened with the early versions of Windows. After the update has been installed I re-start my laptop and then it runs very slowly for the remainder of that session. It only perks up when I completely log-off, switch off and unplug, then plug in again and turn on etc.

According to Microsoft we will soon be able to differ (but not refuse) updates.

But with Microsoft I have learned to be careful.

Default Windows 10

With previous versions I've always faffed about with the settings and even totally screwed up a PC once. With Windows 10 I'm quite happy to more or less do it's own thing. I've deleted a few of the pre-installed Windows junk apps, disabled Cortina and use the Google Chrome browser (it syncs with my Android phone and tablet).

I see I am glad I never updated to 10, like the media, they don't think we can think without them...MS listen to the public and not one of your employee's who live in a privileged world.

I just got the last update for Windows 10 version 1607 (# KB3213986).

Out of curiosity I visited Microsoft's website to know more about this update.

This update includes quality improvements. No new operating system features are being introduced in this update. Key changes include:
  • Improved the reliability of Groove Music playback in the background, App-V, video playback and Remote Desktop.
  • Addressed issue where after successful fingerprint authentication on a device with the screen off, the screen does not turn back on.
  • Addressed issue where only one input device works when you connect two similar input devices to the same machine.
  • Addressed issue in the App-V Connection Group that allows users to have access to pieces of functionality that they were not designated to for access.
  • Addressed issue that prevents users from selecting multiple certificates simultaneously through the UI.
  • Addressed issue where the Request Control function does not work with Remote Assistance if the user being assisted is on Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows Server 2012.
  • Addressed issue that prevents a smart card module from pairing with a contactless smart card reader.
  • Addressed issue with license conversion of Server Core from evaluation version to a retail version.
  • Addressed issue that prevents users from opening Internet shortcut (.URL) files with Internet Explorer when Enhanced Protected Mode is enabled.
  • Addressed issue that prevents users from logging on if a device has been away from the corporate network over a period of time.
  • Addressed additional issues with Microsoft Edge, clustering, Internet Explorer, Windows Update, input devices, facial recognition, Logon, Hyper-V, PCI bus drivers and Windows Kernel.
This impressive list shows that Windows 10 is still under construction.
Microsoft is still relying on the users to finish it.
This would be acceptable when dealing with a free software like Mozilla Firefox, but not with a whole OS.

Well, this is not new, we expected it.

Also it have known bugs:
-

Users may experience delayed or clipped screens while running 3D rendering apps (such as games) on systems with more than one monitor.

The Cluster Service may not start automatically on the first reboot after applying the update.

The first one it is a hard one for those who use 3D with multimonitor(gamers are most of them)...

Project NEON is a fairly minor update that builds on the current Windows 10 UI (aka MDL2).

What I found most interesting in this Project NEON is the bringing back of Windows 7’s Aero Glass and mixing it up with animations.

Microsoft is also introducing a new component called “Acrylic” to the Windows 10 design, which is essentially blur in the background, sidebar or the navigation of the app.

All this is in a state of experimentation.
