GIFTED

So your seven-year-old is a mathematical genius.Do you let your child excel and become a part of a Think Tank or do you let them grow up "normal",regular grade school, after school activities and just being a kid?
In GIFTED Chris Evans as Frank Adler is faced with such a question.Of course when other's find out about his nieces (Mckenna Grace as Mary Adler) gifts especially Mary's grandmother Evelyn(Lindsay Duncan) who thinks Frank is holding her back in various ways

This movie plays beautifully and got to the parent in me.It's touching and moves along at a good pace. There are great performances from the entire cast which includes Jenny Slate and
Octavia Spencer.

There are some been there done that moments, laced with cliches but how it brings out the estrangement and resentment in this family is very sharply written and effective
It goes for the heart and i begged the movie not to make me tear up which i did a couple of times.
Mckenna Grace is a natural charismatic actress

Scale of 1-10 an 8½

The Fate of the Furious

The critic proof Fast & Furious series keeps speeding along with all of it's over the top action sequences and relentlessly fun style .
This time around Dominic "Dom" Toretto is cornered into doing the bidding of Cipher, a criminal mastermind and cyberterrorist (Charlize Theron) what she holds over him was a surprise and i really liked the twist.Working for her means going up against his team/family,another interesting turn.

Is it corny, cheesy with a clunky absurd script...YES but i knew that going in.It still manages to entertain
and actually made me feel something for the characters,Theron is the standout everyone else carries over their exact charisma and character traits from the previous films.
Paul Walker is still missed and there are nice nods to his character.
The action sequences are over the top but i still want to see what they come up with for FAST 9.

Default The Cincinnati Kid (1965)

starring Steve (king of cool) McQueen. with Edward G. Robinson, Karl
Malden, and Ann Margret. a decent movie about a poker game where
"the Kid" (McQueen) buys into a winner takes all marathon with the
"legend" (Robinson) and others. as a bonus, Margret is on full display!

According to the BBC, The Fate of the Furious has raced to the top of the box office chart - breaking an international record in the process.

The eighth film in the action thriller franchise took an estimated $532.5m (£424.7m) globally over Easter weekend.

The figure makes it the strongest worldwide debut ever - marginally overtaking the $529m (£421.8m) taken by Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

However, the film's US takings were down sharply on the previous movie.

Furious 7 opened with $147.2m (£117.3m) in the US when it was released in 2015 - but the latest instalment of the series debuted with $100.2m (£80m).

As you said, that franchise is critic-proof...

Three Days of the Condor (1975)

Trailer

Joseph "Joe" Turner (Robert Redford) works for the CIA in one of its New York offices disguised as the American Literary Historical Society. His job is to read international publications and look for information and strategies that could come in handy for the CIA. One day, while returning from lunch, Turner finds his office colleagues dead. They were murdered by a group of men led by foreign assassin G. Joubert (Max von Sydow) who most likely work for the CIA themselves. Aware that he was meant to die as well, Turner tries to discover who's behind the murder of his colleagues and why he has become a target. The word condor in the film's title is a reference to Turner's CIA code name.

When it comes to live action Marvel has the edge right now. Ainmated features on the other hand DC/Warner tend to be better..

Thumbs up Watched the first on documentary-movie.com

Not a movie as such but rather documentaries am I watching/Listening to right now. First one was very interesting.
Among other Veteran porn stars got to hear from the legendary Asia Carrera. Who comes across as the smartest of cookies

Just started streaming the sequel.

From the titles it seems Ginger Lynn might be in this one

- Additional -

The sequel is a slightly different kettle of fruit in a way as I've just had to hear from a transgendered porn star called Venus Lux
Some odd faced bloke I have zero bloody interest in.
But as I type truly vintage Georgina Spelvin has arrived on screen.
That`s better.
Just watched it.

Ah it`s now bringing up the Darren James HIV event.

Huzzah it`s Gingers turn for screen time now.

Default A Street Cat Named Bob - 2016

Homeless and a recovering drug addict, James Bowen (Luke Treadaway) is running low on his luck. He’s given a last chance to turn his life around by his support worker, Val (Joanne Froggatt), who helps him to finally be given his own flat to live in. As James attempts to build a life and future for himself by busking in Covent Garden, he struggles to gain any traction as the London crowd passes him by. Whilst in the bath one day, he hears a break-in and finds a ginger cat in his kitchen eating the corn flakes. Thinking it belongs to a neighbour, he sets out to find the owner but with no luck concluding that it must be a stray. Over the next few days, the cat continues to linger on the estate, and James discovers an infected wound on the animal’s leg. He takes the cat to be treated by a charity vet and from that point onwards, the two lives become entwined. James, in learning to care for something other than himself, starts becoming a responsible person and Bob helps him make money busking, in their touching symbiotic relationship. Bob also acts as a matchmaker of sorts as James develops a romantic relationship with his neighbor Betty.

It's corny now, but it scared the bejesus out of me when I was eight. I blame my dad for letting me watch it. He was too easy going.
I'm watching He Never Died for, oh I don't know, the bajillionth time. Jack is that last word in grunge cool. I hope the much talked about miniseries eventually eventuates.
