It used to be a thread where the posters didn't take things too seriously. Or try to convince others over to their own fixed point of view. Since attempting either let alone both on a forum can only lead to exasperation and humorlessness.
I try my utmost to stay away from Political ranting on here.
Don't always succeed mind.
Mainly as am so full of anger about the daily lies upon bullshit upon lies we`re fed as factual truths. I`d happily blow myself up if could take Britain's front bench with me
Annnnnnyway
Check out the earlier pages to see how odd ball (Butt enough about my personal affliction ) funnier it used to be.
We'd be pissed off deliberately about the most minor things.
Along the lines of "There was next to no bacon in my BLT this morning , bah and yet those Ethiopians think they've got it rough !".

Ahhh to be back in 2008.
That was a far gentler time
Bloody hell 2008 was a golden age for the world compared to now
Which is beyond saying something facking annoying

I don't believe we need a time out, nor do I believe that we can take one. The world has become more complex and those days when life was much easier and simpler are many miles in our rear view window. It has become a time and age where just about anything and anyone pisses us off royally ... mostly due to other's ignorance, lack of courtesy, or stupidity.

Impatient twats in cars

On the subject of annoyances the above is one that has bothered me for years but has been prevalent recently on daily trips to the hospital.

We have several roads where on the lead up to a junction there is a filter lane for cars to turn right, a few hundred yards past the junction the two lanes merge into one, however you always get ignorant impatient sad wankers who use that filter lane to try to get a couple of car lengths ahead.
If I am at the front and there is some knob by the side of me then 9 times out of 10 I will react quicker than they do and not give them any chance to overtake me. On the odd occasion they react quicker I stay in second place and allow no room.
If I have just one of two cars ahead of me I stay close to them and do not leave any space so the impatient twats by my side have to slow down and wait for a space. I never make eye contact.
What annoys me almost as much as those impatient knobs is if I am patiently waiting a dozen or so car spaces back and we start to move are the soft arses in the queue ahead of me who slow traffic down to let 7 or 8 of the impatient shitheads through.
If they are really in a hurry to be somewhere the twats should have set off earlier.

The ONLY vehicles I will give way to are emergency vehicles and funeral corteges, every one else can just learn to be patient.

On the subject of streets and driving ...

When on a two-way street I hate when some twit driving a small to mid-size vehicle and not towing a trailer or camper or driving a tractor trailer makes a right hand turn from the far left of the travel lane, and likewise when they make a left hand turn from the far right of the travel lane!
Even worse when they don't use their turn signal and now you're playing guessing games with them which way they are going to turn!

In the opinion of my 93 year old, lifelong Republican father, "Every day Donald Trump manages to do something even more stupid than he did the day before." Dad also doesn't much like the food at the assisted living facility or having to wear a diaper.

I get seriously annoyed by looking at my future.
Have you ever heard of a French actor called "Alain Delon"?
Here he's very famous, almost a legend, even if he's considered by the public to be an arrogant person. He's now 82 years old.
Recently he gave an interview of the French TV. He said: "I'll not let God to choose the day of my death... I must have a valid reason, but death does not scare me at all. I even warned my children."

My mother was terribly afraid to die. It was a real psychosis, when she was in good health.... When her cancer had won the game, she asked to stop the medical treatment.
I remember her telling : "Life like that is no longer worth living."
I had never thought to hear these words come out of her mouth once in her life.
She died one week later instead to live two or three monthes longer.

IMO committing suicide is quite respectable.

Unfortunately, as I get older, I start to automatically assume that people like Alain Delon are dead. A couple of weeks ago, I was astonished to learn that not only was 94 year old Charles Aznavour still alive, but he was performing on stage.

I was intrigued by this E, so I looked it up, I might be wrong but if I've got the correct incident, an independent review stated that this was caused by some faulty hardware that didn't record low temperatures, and when the Bureau of Meteorology became aware of this, they replaced the equipment on 6 sites (it had affected 2).

"Furthermore, the Bureau determined that these failures at below -10.4°C had no impact on the official temperature record used for monitoring long-term temperature change; the Australian Climate Observations Reference Network – Surface Air Temperature (ACORN-SAT). The Goulburn and Thredbo AWS are not part of the ACORN-SAT, and the loss of data during the events described above had no impact on the ACORN-SAT record, either directly or indirectly through quality assurance of other ACORN-SAT sites."

I didn't read the whole report (it's hella long), but from what I read about this, The Australian (a Murdoch owned newspaper) and a 'think-tank' has a habit of trying to muddy the waters on climate change in Australia, so much so that back in 2009 Dr Michael Coughlan, acting cheif of climatology in Aus, said "The Australian clearly has an editorial policy. No matter how many times the scientific community refutes these arguments, they persist in putting them out - to the point where we believe there’s little to be gained in the use of our time in responding". The United Nations World Meteorological Organisation recognises Australia's bureau as one of the best in the world at managing climate data, apparently.

Obviously I know very little about it, but I reckon a Rupert Murdoch owned newspaper is more likely to have an agenda than some meteorologists, and scientists are notoriously bad at getting their message outside to the wider world.

Oh, sorry Max - what annoys me the most is when I'm walking along humming to myself and scratching my balls, and I don't realise that there's two people sat off to the side of the path, apparently training to be ninjas because they're so flipping quiet and well camoflaged, and then they look at me like I'm mental - as if YOU never hum to yourself and scratch your balls when you think no-one's around
