A total shitenhowzen country, built around half a dozen cities that produce money.

I've lived there. The society is a repressed and censored community, in the 70s it was liberal and expansive. Now it is closed down, censored to the hilt and anal.

Go 10 miles out of ANY city and you will have septic tanks overflowing, corrugated tin roofs blowing half off....a redkneck paradise.

It depends entirely on your perspective. (i think?) I've lived in the Aussie bush most of my life, prefering it to cities. But then i've never actively protested about anything. There is still time. and i'm begining to think reason.

Truthfully i don't think you'd find that many extremists, or rednecks here, although they do exist. (as would their equivelant in any part of the world?)

I've never had any problems with overflowing "septic's", but then i don't live at 'Wolf Creek' either.

It's a complete coincidence that I'm considering changing my username to 'kananga' and having something like this for an avatar.

Well, you're probably not alone.

My take on 'rednecks' is generally men with rifles who go out shooting wildlife and/or road signs. As a landowner I've known quite a few 'hunters' but only one detestable one whom i'd consider a real redneck.
